I dream of things that never were, and ask why not' Robert Kennedy The whole frame was swaying as if to scratch gropingly and fault-ridden. Even gold hearted friends were turning into falling firebirds, and they stay forever in a dream like when a peacock dozes. But the clean mirror of us all was sobbing speechless in the skies about a distant shore as lonely as death. Even the size of the stars beat their heads against the town bell. Because there was my father on a rock's edge of the soul. Kneeling in his bedroom, crying with his empty M-1 rifle holding up his strength. He had joined the National Guard in the summer of '63, and was not praying mistakenly as if drunk swallows the flame of fire. But the race riots had begun in New Haven and Hartford, and he had some semblance of duty: that eight phases of Buddha feeling. The smearing of blood unable to hear it's own voice. The vast heavens like wings that leave bruises in the heart. They are timeless and not yet done. and my mother stood outside the room like an immaculate petal, yesterday, today, and tomorrow still.

Biographical materials regarding the primary historical persons depicted in the play are included. Appendices of a previous draft of the script and biographical portraits have been included to illustrate the author’s process in creating the drama. iii APPROVAL PAGE The faculty listed below, appointed by the Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences have examined a thesis titled “Jet Propulsion A Play about John Whiteside Parsons,” presented by Peter Jon Bakely, candidate for the Master of Arts degree, and certify that in their opinion it is worthy of acceptance.

Duran Duran was founded in 1978 by Nick Rhodes and John Taylor. Starting with cautious live attempts in April of 1979, they soon became an established live group with quite a few line-up changes in the very early days. Simon Le Bon joined the band in May of 1980, and the 'classic line-up' - including Nick Rhodes, John Taylor, Roger Taylor, Andy Taylor and Simon Le Bon - did their first gig at the Rum Runner in Birmingham in July of 1980. While on tour with Hazel O'Connor from November until early December in 1980, A&R man Dave Ambrose signed the band to EMI Records. Since then, the group toured every album, but Liberty, and until today, they played nearly 1400 gigs around the globe! Several shows have been broadcast by radio and on TV, but this list features only the live performances, which have been released, either by the band or their record company. • Provincetown Film Society’S Jamaica on Film Festival Proudly Celebrates the Screening of Babylon at This Year’S Provincetown Film Festival
WELCOME TO PROVINCETOWN LIKE NOWHERE ELSE The oldest continuous art colony in America provides the perfect setting for the 21st Provincetown Film Festival. Since the turn of the last century, Provincetown has been a haven for artists, writers, filmmakers and other so-called “dissents.” Embraced by the small Portuguese fishing village at the end of the world, the artistic community continues to thrive here in Provincetown along with the town’s support of all freedom of expression. The Festival’s legacy of presenting thought-provoking and innovative independent films and programs continues this season with our line-up of movies, parties and special programs including our very special keynote speaker, former Deputy FBI Director Andrew McCabe whose best seller, The Threat: How the F.B.I. Protects America in the Age of Terror and Trump, seems destined to be the basis for a film. Award winning actor, writer and director John Cameron Mitchell (HEDWIG AND THE ANGRY INCH) defines the festival’s Filmmaker on the Edge award, once again presented by Festival favorite John Waters whose town hall conversation with Mitchell is a must-see event of the week. In addition to enjoying our line-up of films and events we invite you to explore our town and walk in the footsteps of Eugene O’Neill, Tennessee Williams, and our beloved poet Mary Oliver, among so many other great talents. Along the way please take a moment to thank our sponsors. The inns, restaurants, and local attractions, along with the ongoing support of town government, make this Festival possible and keep alive the creative expression of independent film.
