Genus Paradeudorix Libert, 2004 Fairy Playboys Revision des Deudorix africains (Lepidoptera, Lycaenidae): 95 (201 pp.). A.B.R.I., Nairobi, Kenya and Lambillionea, Tervuren, Belgium. Type-species: Deudoryx [sic] ituri Bethune-Baker, 1908. The genus Paradeudorix belongs to the Family Lycaenidae Leach, 1815; Subfamily Theclinae Swainson, 1831; Tribe Deudorigini Doherty, 1886. The other genera in the Tribe Deudorigini in the Afrotropical Region are Deudorix, Hypomyrina, Pilodeudorix and Capys. Paradeudorix (Fairy Playboys) is an Afrotropical genus containing 13 species. Distribution: Nigeria, Cameroon, Equatorial Guinea, Gabon, Congo, Central African Republic, Democratic Republic of Congo, Sudan, Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania. Habitat: Primary forest. Habits: Rare in Nigeria but common in the equatorial zone (Larsen, 2005a). Individuals are usually encountered while they are perched on leaves in the forest undergrowth (Larsen, 1991c).
