The genus Paradeudorix belongs to the Family Lycaenidae Leach, 1815; Subfamily Swainson, 1831; Tribe Doherty, 1886. The other genera in the Tribe Deudorigini in the Afrotropical Region are Deudorix, Hypomyrina, and .

Habits: Rare in Nigeria but common in the equatorial zone (Larsen, 2005a). Individuals are usually encountered while they are perched on leaves in the forest undergrowth (Larsen, 1991c). Distribution: Guinea-Bissau, Guinea, Sierra Leone, Liberia, Ivory Coast, Ghana, Togo, Benin, Nigeria, Cameroon, Equatorial Guinea. Recorded, in error?, from Central African Republic, Democratic Republic of Congo. Habitat: Primary forest, but also in somewhat degraded forest (Larsen, 2005a). Primary forest (subspecies parallela). Habits: A relatively common species that is met with in ones and twos (Larsen, 2005a). Females usually fly around, rather weakly, near ground level, while males usually fly rapidly in the forest canopy (Larsen, 2005a). Early stages:

Lamborn, 1914. The larva was found to associated with Crematogaster buchneri but Lamborn could not discern a DNO or TO’s. Pupal period 7 days.

Smith, 1965 The larva has been found to be parasitized by Apanteles aparopsides (Braconiidae).

Larval food: Albizia zygia (DC.) J.F.Mcbr. (Fabaceae) [Smith, 1965; Ghana]. Theobromo cacao L. (Sterculiaceae) [Smith, 1965; Ghana]. Associated ant: Crematogaster buchneri For. race alligatrix For. (Formicidae) [Lamborn, 1914: 471; Nigeria].
