42 Km of Pure Nature 2019 i 14. 9. maraton.s www.bovec 42 km 21 km of pure nature 7.4 km Runners, welcome to the Bovec Marathon Bovec has a very long marathon tradition that goes back to the 1980’s. Bovec marathon is one of the largest running events in Slovenia. The tracks of Bovec marathon are carefully chosen and they lead through the pristine nature and hidden corners of the Bovec area with a historical touch. Running at the foot of the mountains surrounding Bovec, through picturesque villages, along the clear rivers Soča, Učja, Lepenca and Koritnica, crossing the hanging bridges, all this makes the event unforgettable for the runners. The Bovec Marathon does not enable records but it is definitely one of the most beautiful and enjoyable runs. The races will be accompanied by a broad accompanying programme. Apart from running, our beautiful valley offers to visitors numerous other ac- tivities: hiking and mountain biking, various water activities on the Soča river, parachuting and paragliding, zip line and cable car ride to our mountain ski resort and much more. I believe that every single one of you can find some- thing for yourself. I want to take this opportunity to thank all the participants for choosing Bovec maraton. I need to thank the Community of Bovec, the partners who enabled the event, the ambassadors who promoted the event, media partners and others who helped with organizing the event in any way. The first three marathons were a huge success, so we have every reason to be more self-confident. The Bovec marathon is a sports event that brings all generations together. It is a unique opportunity for all those who love running and its longest course can be a real challenge even for profes- sionals. Such a natural amphitheatre with the Bovec marathon course along the unique beautiful emerald Soča River makes it also the toughest race and at the same time a real pleasure. I stand by my first words of my introductory speech because there is no such beautiful and diverse natural scenery any- where else in the world. I am positive that the organisers will manage to make an excellent event because they are immensely determined and selfless and have gained experience over the last three years. The municipality of Bovec is proud to provide financial support for this event which, however, could not be carried out without volunteers spending countless hours preparing it. I hereby sincerely thank all volunteers and organisers and of course all sponsors! Many years of work, numerous achievements of the members of the main organiser the Sports club Bovec marathon and outstanding results of the members of the Running club Bovec have made the Bovec area well known at home and in other European countries. Together we can organise such a challenging proj- ect. The Bovec marathon is an outstanding sports event for Bovec at the high- est level and as it attracts so many guests it brings added value to the destina- tion and extends the tourist season. However, the most important fact is that it encourages youth sports development and makes healthy mind in a healthy body their lifestyle choice.     1 JULIAN ALPS TRIGLAV NATIONAL PARK www.slovenia.info 2The Julian Alps The Julian Alps are the southeast- ernmost part of the Alpine arc and at the same time the mountain range that marks the border between Slo- venia and Italy. They are usually divided into the East- ern and Western Julian Alps. The East- ern Julian Alps, which make up approx- imately three-quarters of the range and cover an area of 1,542 km2, lie entirely on the Slovenian side of the border and are the largest and highest Alpine range in Slovenia. The highest peak is Triglav (2,864 metres), but there are more than 150 other peaks over 2,000 metres high. The emerald river Soča rises on one side of the Julian Alps, in the Primorska re- gion; the two headwaters of the river Sava – the Sava Dolinka and the Sava Bohinjka – rise on the other side, in the Gorenjska region. The Julian Alps – the kingdom of Zlatorog According to an ancient legend a white chamois with golden horns lived in the mountains. The people of the area named him Zlatorog, or “Goldhorn”. He guarded the treasures of nature. One day a greedy hunter set off into the mountains and, ignoring the warnings, tracked down Zlatorog and shot him. Blood ran from his wounds Chamois The Triglav rose and fell to the ground. Where it landed, a miraculous plant, the Triglav rose, sprang up. Zlatorog ate the flowers of this plant and its magical healing powers made him invulnerable. At the same time, however, he was saddened by the greed of human beings.

    HACQUETIA 12/2 • 2013, 95–185 DOI: 10.2478/HACQ-2013-0012 FOREST AND SCRUB COMMUNITIES WITH GREEN ALDER (ALNUS VIRIDIS) IN SLOVENIA Igor DAKSKOBLER1,2, Andrej ROZMAN2 & Andrej SELIŠKAR3 Abstract This paper provides phytosociological tables that describe scrub and forest communities with Alnus viridis in the Slovenian Alps. We described three new associations: Rhododendro hirsuti-Alnetum viridis (a green alder community on calcareous bedrock in the Eastern and Southeastern Alps), Huperzio selagi-Alnetum viridis (a green alder community in the silicate rocks under Mt. Komen in the eastern Savinja Alps) and Alno viridis- Sorbetum aucupariae (a successional stage of mountain ash and green alder on potential beech sites in the foot- hills of the southern Julian Alps; similar stages are known also elsewhere in the Alps), and presented additional three associations (Polysticho lonchitis-Fagetum, Rhodothamno-Laricetum and Rhododendro hirsuti-Pinetum mugo) whose stands comprise green alder. Key words: phytosociology, synsystematics, Alnetum viridis, Rhododendro hirsuti-Alnetum viridis, Huperzio selagi- Alnetum viridis, Alno viridis-Sorbetum aucupariae, the Julian Alps, the Karavanke Mountains, the Smrekovec Mountains. Izvleček V članku s fitocenološkimi tabelami opisujemo grmiščne in gozdne združbe, v katerih v slovenskih Alpah uspeva vrsta Alnus viridis. Opisali smo tri nove asociacije: Rhododendro hirsuti-Alnetum viridis (združba zelene je- lše na karbonatni podlagi v vzhodnih in jugovzhodnih Alpah), Huperzio selagi-Alnetum viridis (združba zelene jelše v silikatnem skalovju pod goro Komen v vzhodnih Savinjskih Alpah) ter Alno viridis-Sorbetum aucupariae (sukcesijski stadij jerebike in zelene jelše na potencialno bukovih rastiščih v prigorju južnih Julijskih Alp, po- dobne stadije poznajo tudi drugod v Alpah) ter predstavili še tri druge asociacije (Polysticho lonchitis-Fagetum, Rhodothamno-Laricetum in Rhododendro hirsuti-Pinetum mugo), v čigar sestojih uspeva zelena jelša.

Vpra- šanja, ki si jih avtor postavi, zadevajo individualni in kolektivni spomin rudarjev in prebivalcev skupnosti Log pod Mangartom, na drugi strani pa oblike soo čenja po- sameznikov z novonastalo mejo med Italijo in Jugoslavijo. Ob arhivskih dokumentih, ki so jih proizvedle lokalne politi čne strukture, je avtor pridobil ustnozgodovinske intervjuje s prebivalci Loga pod Mangartom. Metodološki prijem je prej ideografski kot nomoteti čen, saj si avtor prizadeva osvetliti predvsem partikularnost zgodovin- skega dogajanja in spominjanja. On the basis of a detailed inventory, the damages to structures were clas- sified into five damage grades, defined in accordance with the European Macroseismic Scale (EMS). After both earthquakes, extensive geological and geophysical investigations were carried out, including geological mapping, the excavation of 60 pits, drilling of 20 boreholes down to depths of 20 m, seismic measurements, geo-electrical measurements and seismic microtremor investi- gations. Since 1990, local seismic effects in Slovenia have been addressed through consecutive rules covering static calculations for the structures being built; the first of these rules was the old Slovenian regulation (Uradni list SFRJ 31/81), and the other two were the last Eurocode 8 (EU8-94 and EU8- SIST EN 1998-1:2005) regulations. In this report, we describe studies on how local ground conditions in- crease seismic effects on structures. On the basis of mentioned data in previ- ous paragraph, we attempted to establish how reliably this influence can be defined. A forecast of local seismic effects was compared with actually estab- lished damage to structures.
