This fantastic boost to the Hospitality Industry is just what the doctor ordered. In fact it’s a much needed tonic for all of us, and great to enjoy watching live sport again while draining a glass or two with friends. It looks like travel abroad will be open once again to those of us lucky enough to have had two covid jabs and a government announcement is expected soon together with perhaps as many as 20 countries being put on the ‘Green List’. This should enable us to start promoting our Grand Beer Tours once again. Six Degrees North Arenberg 10.5% TIPA A big, full bodied beauty with copious amounts of Sabro hops to create a tropical fruit bomb. With Azacca hops leading the charge with more mango than a Rubicon factory and more beautiful forbidden fruits than the Garden of Eden, this is some silly juice. BrewDog Hazy Jane Guava 5% NEIPA Brewed with Citra and Ahtanum hops, and packed with oats, this twist on the classic NEIPA is as smooth as it is fruity. Guava leads the way with notes of pineapple, mango and stone-fruit following on. Brewed with oats and wheat and left unfiltered for a fruity smooth journey. Attic Brew Co. Meridian 8.7% DIPA Clear, refreshing and drinkable like a classic DIPA, but full of dank fruit flavour. Balanced water profile and flavours of passion fruit, mango, papaya, pineapple, and apricot. It's a Galaxy-led tropical hop showcase that's out of this world. Attic Brew Co. Punks In The Attic 4% IPA Collab with Punks & Chancers. Hopped with Strata and Motueka for big citrus and tropical flavours, with plenty of body to boot. Polly’s Brew Co. Angel Feed 6% IPA A straight up, no nonsense IPA. The data are monthly frequency of violent-injury collected from a stratified sample of 58 National Health Service Emergency Departments 1995-2000. An econometric model based on economic, socio-demographic and environmental factors was estimated using panel techniques. We show that the rate of violence-related injury is negatively related to the real price beer, as well as economic, sporting and socio-demographic factors. The principal conclusion of the paper is that the regional distribution of the incidence of violent injury is related to the regional distribution of the price of beer.

I was enjoying Friday night trips to Whitefriars Ale House in Coventry with their ever changing selection of guest ales. However I could never really remember which beers or breweries I’d enjoyed most a few months later. The nearby Inspire Café Bar provided a different challenge with its range of European beers that were often only differentiated by their number – was it the 6, 8 or 10 that I liked? So I started to make notes on the beers to improve my powers of selection. Now, over three years on, that simple list has grown into the book you hold. As well as straightforward likes and dislikes, the book contains what I have learnt about the many styles of beer and the history of brewing in countries across the world. It reflects the diverse beers that are being produced today and the differing attitudes to it.

Legal statements, estate management papers and all the numerous works intended for publication have been excluded for the sake of brevity, with the partial exception of an open letter which was circulated anonymously in manuscript around Edinburgh in 1713. Many legal and estate papers survive; these are held by the National Library of Scotland in Acc.7124 and 4322 (Lockharts of Lee and Carnwath), and others may be found in the records of the House of Lords. The bulk of material either published or intended for publication, as well as Lockhart’s extensive autobiographical writings, can be found in Anthony Aufrere’s excellent edition of The Lockhart Papers (2 vols, 1817). Thus far I have been unable to discover the eventual fate of the manuscripts from which Aufrere compiled The Lockhart Papers. Nevertheless, my own research has many times confirmed both the authenticity of what is contained therein and Aufrere’s reputation for painstaking scholarship. It should be emphasised that the collected letters that follow constitute the complete corpus of Lockhart’s correspondence known to me at the present time. It is perfectly possible that other letters may survive in archives not accessible at the time my research was being conducted, most notably the archive of the Dukes of Argyll at Inveraray.
