A hidden island in the heart of Athens! Anafiotika The great city of Athens, Greece is made up of numerous small villages that have melded together over the years. Plaka is the most ancient, original part of the city where most of the archaeological sites are located. Just up on the hill above Plaka, under the flank of the Acropolis (“the high city”) there is the tiny village of Anafiotika, so unique and so beautiful and totally different from the city. You have this amazing sense of being in a different place, on an island and you can enjoy the scenery, the beauty of it and the silence away from all he noises of the city. Plaka One of the most picturesque neighborhoods in Athens, with its narrow streets, lovely colourful neoclassical buildings, small cafes, traditional tavernas, souvenir shops and ancient ruins in almost every corner.
