NITTO ATP FINALS: TURIN, THE CAPITAL OF WORLD

Following today’s press conference to present the 2021 Nitto ATP Finals and the start of the new ATP season, the “FedEx ATP Race to Turin” has officially begun.

From November 14-21, the ATP’s best eight qualified singles players and doubles teams will battle it out at the Pala Alpitour, for the most prestigious indoor tennis title in the world. It will be the first of five editions hosted at the futuristic Turin arena, which was inaugurated for the 2006 Winter Olympics.

GOVERNANCE - The planning, implementation and management of the event feature a team of the highest institutional, central and local representatives (Italian Government, Piedmont Region, City of Turin) working alongside the two sporting institutions that run the event: the Italian Tennis Federation (FIT) and the ATP.

The Italian Tennis Federation, which is the implementing body, oversees all organizational and executive activities through a Technical Management Commission. The Commission is chaired by the president of the FIT, Angelo Binaghi, and is composed of two other members representing the Federation, a representative of the Piedmont Region as vice-president and a representative of the City of Turin.

Furthermore, the FIT and the ATP, through a Joint Committee, will oversee coordination of activities related to the management of the event.

For planning and implementation activities, the organization will have the support of its traditional partner, Sport e Salute SpA, while the Masterplan will be designed by the AWE International Group (serving at the helm of a group of companies composed of Architect Camerana, Arriva Italia and Nielsen Sports Italia) who won a dedicated tender.

The organization also includes a Committee for the Nitto ATP Finals that carries out coordination and monitoring functions in order to promote the city and the territory, favoring the development of local economic, social and cultural activities. This committee, soon to be formed, will be chaired by the Mayor of Turin, Chiara Appendino, and composed by a representative of the President of the Regional Council of Piedmont, with the functions of vice-president, a representative of the Government Authority competent in matters of sport and a representative of the FIT.
