In 1993, the Hanoverian Jumper Breeding Program was born. The focus for a selected group of Hanove- rian breeding stock will be to produce above average jumpers. This program is designed for mares with a jumper pedigree, and either with above average per- formances in competition, or a score of 8,0 or better for jumping ability in the mare performance test. For a mare to be accepted because of competition per- formances, she must have placed at least five times in jumper classes at the M-level (1.30 m classes). Successful descendants must have a success record at the S-level (1.40 m classes) or an international success record. Entry into the Stallion Book After the licensing and the performance test, a stalli- on may be entered into the stallion book I. A stallion is not automatically entered though. The stallion ow- ner must apply for it in writing and pay the applicable dues. This application must be submitted to Hannove- raner Verband e. V. by mid November for the following breeding season. It needs to be renewed annually. It is the responsibility of the stallion owner to know that he needs to reapply annually. All active stallions, which are entered into the stallion book I of the asso- ciation, are published in our association’s magazine DER HANNOVERANER and on the Internet.
