Baruch Habah B’Shem Adonai!

By Steph Gutmann

It has struck me recently, some of the similarities between the time when walked among us in His human form, and the times we are living in. As the Bride of Yeshua awaits for His return, we cannot allow ourselves to be held back from the promise of Eternal Life with Him, through the attitudes, commands and responses of those around us. As the cry for “political correctness” and “my rights” gains volume and strength, I believe the Bride of Yeshua will never be silenced, the closer we get to His return… no matter how much the world around her tries.

This came from the reminder of when Jesus entered into on the donkey, the Sunday before He was crucified. As the shouts of praise, rejoicing and adulation were being proclaimed by the multitudes who were following Jesus, or going ahead of Him, laying down palm branches and their clothes, we see in Luke 19 a small minority of people who wanted to ruin the moment, to stop the noise, and to silence the crowds:

Luke 19: 39: and some of the Pharisees called to Him from the crowd, “Teacher, rebuke Your disciples”.

It is interesting to note what was being proclaimed by the crowds who were lifting the name of Jesus as He entered into Jerusalem, and the significance of His actions. Psalm 118 has long been recognised as a “Messianic Psalm”, meaning that it is understood was speaking of the promised Messiah through the Psalmists words. In particular, as Jesus entered Jerusalem the prophecies of the Messiah were fulfilled:

Zechariah 9:9 (NKJ): “Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion! Shout, O daughter of Jerusalem! Behold, your King is coming to you; He is just and having salvation, Lowly and riding on a donkey, A colt, the foal of a donkey.”

Luke 19:35 (CJB): They brought it to Yeshua; and, throwing their robes on the colt, they Yeshua on it.

So when the people behind Jesus and in front of Him started crying out: saying,”HOSHAN NAH to Ben Dovid! BARUCH HABAH BSHEM ADONOI! Hoshannah in the Highest!” (Matthew 21:9 Orthodox Jewish ) translated as “Hosanna to the Son of ! ‘Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!’ Hosanna in the highest!”- NKJ the direct quote from the messianic Psalm would not have been missed on those who studied the Scriptures, the Pharisees:

Psalm 118:25-26 (OJB): Save now, we beseech Thee, Hashem; Hashem, we beseech thee, send now prosperity. Baruch habah b’Shem Hashem; we have blessed you from the Beis Hashem.

Jesus was identifying Himself, through the Messianic Scriptures. Through the actions of both Himself and those around Him, He was proclaiming His role as the long-awaited Messiah, the Son of God.

Psalm 118:19-20(NKJ): “Open to me the gates of righteousness and I will go through them and I will praise the Lord. This is the gate of the Lord, through which the righteous shall enter”

John 10:9 (CJB): “I am the gate; if someone enters through me, he will be safe and will go in and out and find pasture.” But even today, the fact that Yeshua, our Jewish Messiah, has been and made a way for His people to enter into eternal life and the relationship of righteousness with God the Father has become lost on so many people. It is interesting to note that the demand to rebuke the disciples came from “within the crowd”… The Pharisees were the religious leaders of the day, and they were among the crowds of people watching Jesus has he entered the City of Jerusalem in such a powerfully significant way. But they didn’t like it! This tells me that even with the Church, there are people who would rather the proclamations of God’s greatness and the announcement of Jesus’ return, were silenced.

There are people who are within the Church who, along with the Pharisees of Jesus day, have all but given up on the truth that one day, Jesus will return for His bride. “It’s been more than 2,000 years and there hasn’t been any indication the Messiah is returning, why should I believe it will happen now??” Yeshua is God. He is not man that He should lie. He has promised He will return for His Bride, and like a Jewish Groom of first century Israel, He has gone to prepare a place for His bride, so that when He returns for her, He will have somewhere to take her home to again.

The praises of the people may dry up. The praises of the people may be forced to be silenced. The praises of the people may be pushed underground, but the praises of our God will never ever be unheard! For even if the people are silenced, “the stones would immediately cry out” (Luke 19:40)!

Don’t allow yourself to be intimidated into silence, your Heavenly Bridegroom is making ready the palace He will take you home to, He is making Himself ready to come back for you, His beloved bride. Make sure you yourself are ready to meet Him when He comes! For when the People of Israel once more proclaim, “Baruch habah b’Shem Adonai!” may your voice be heard within the mighty shout of Yeshua’s Bride, for He has prophesied,

Matthew 23:39 (NKJ): “for I say to you (Jerusalem), you shall see Me no more till you say, ‘Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!’” from https://stepheegutmann.wordpress.com/tag/baruch-haba-bshem-adonai/
