SUMMARY OF PROJECT:

The project "Step inside volunteering" is a training activity for youth workers, coordinators and representatives of European youth organizations. The main objective of the project is to enable participants to gain new knowledge, exchange experience with colleagues, share best practices and motivate them to continue or start working on volunteer projects under "Erasmus+" KA1 and European Solidarity Corps in partnership with partner organizations involved in the training. From 10th to 16th October in Rousse, experienced trainers will familiarize participants with the essence of Erasmus+ volunteering and volunteering in general, with the opportunities and perspectives it opens to a young person, the local community and youth organizations. They will familiarize participants with the new volunteer programs under the Erasmus + Program KA1 and with the newly approved European Solidarity Corps. Participants will learn how to manage volunteering projects and deal with conflicting and unpredictable situations during the project implementation. Most activities during the project will be implemented with interactive methods such as role-plays, theatrical techniques, SWOT analysis and other typical non- formal education. We expect that after the project, the participants will be actively involved in volunteering programs of the European Comission and will implement the joint project ideas they have developed under the program, sending and hosting volunteers from their organizations. Another aspect of the project is to meet the cultures of our countries. With intercultural nights, presentation of our cultures and traditions and spending informal time together, we are strengthening unique European identity.

Some of the topics in the programme are:

- Background and Principles of Volunteering - European Voluntary Service/Erasmus+ volunteering - European Solidarity Corps - Volunteering regulations in the European countries - Recognition of volunteering work - Project management in volunteering projects - Working with project applications - Conflict management - Good practices in volunteering projects - News about the new volunteering programme in the next period

Participants: youth workers, coordinators of volunteers, representatives of NGO or other organizations who would like to develop volunteering. The participants have to be over 18 years old. It will be better if you can send people who don’t have experience in EVS/Erasmus+ volunteering or have a little experience. Of course we will welcome experienced participants too so that they can share their knowledge with the group 

WHAT TO PREPARE BEFORE THE TRAINING

1. We are planning one intercultural night where every country will have 10 minutes for presentations. Please bring some food or drinks from your national cuisine (not much). Don’t bring anything that needs to be cooked. Think how to present your culture and country in a best way? 2. Leaflets, posters, brochures, and other materials presenting your organization if you have. 3. Brochures, movies and other materials presenting volunteering projects of your organization if you have. 4. As a small homework project, please make a research and team discussions with colleagues from your organization and collect information about volunteering in your country (i.e. is it officially recognized, is it popular; do you have a law for volunteering, do you have special national volunteering programmes etc?/ 5. Declaration from the president for the reimbursement (see the section Reimbursement)
