Aiheen valintaan vaikutti myös se, että samasta aiheesta ei ole ennen tehty opinnäytetyötä. Työn tarkoituksena oli antaa toimeksiantajalle tietoa siitä, mitkä päivittäistavarakaupan vetovoimatekijöistä ovat merkittävimpiä asiakkaan näkökulmasta.
