ROBINSON, 77, Warsaw, died at 5:56 p.m. Sunday at Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw. Survivors include his wife, Judy Robinson, Warsaw; three daughters, Bonnie Long, Warsaw, Marlene Stookey, Warsaw, and Teresa Bullers, Warsaw; and one brother, Larry D. Robinson. Funeral service is at 3 p.m. Thursday, at King Memorial Home, Mentone. Visitation is 1-3 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Ruth Zartman Ruth ZARTMAN, 90, Plymouth, died at 4:40 a.m. Tuesday at Pilgrim Manor, Plymouth. Survivors include two daughters, Phyllis M. Calhoun, Charlottesville, Va., and Carol A. Allhouse, Barberton, Ohio; one son, Ernest D. Zartman, Plymouth; one sister, Peggy Ehlinger, Rochester; and two brothers, Larry Hunter, Rochester and Russell D. Hunter, Jensen Beach, Fla. Funeral service is at 10 a.m. Friday, at the Good Family Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Rochester. Visitation is from 5-8 p.m. Thursday, and an hour prior to the service. Thursday, January 3, 2013 Herbert D. McIntire Oct. 14, 1926 – Jan. 1, 2013 Herbert D. McINTIRE, 86, long time Fulton County resident passed away at 12 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2013, at Life Care Center, Rochester. Herb, as he was commonly known, was born on Oct. 14, 1926, near Athens, to Oval L. and Mary M. (Craig) McIntire. Most of Herb’s adult life was spent in the Kewanna area, where he farmed with the family until entering the military, serving our country in the U.S. Army from 1953 to 1955. During his tour of duty in Germany, Herb was selected to attend the N.C.O. Academy in Baumholder, Germany, and was proud of his graduation from that academy. Herb attended Rochester High School until mid-term his senior year and then transferred to Kewanna High School, where he graduated in 1945. During his high school career at Rochester, Herb played on the varsity basketball team under coach Harry Ray, and he was also a star shortstop on the fast-pitch softball and baseball teams. After graduating high school, Herb played for the Jones’ IHC traveling fastpitch softball team as well as playing for a number of years for the Kewanna Merchants and Winamac Coil Spring teams. Herb also played semi-pro baseball for years. Survivors include two sisters, Rowena Bryant (Kenny, deceased), of Rochester, and Doris Crabill (Dr. Del), of Charleston, Ill.; one brother, Leonard McIntire (Jane) of Crawfordville, Fla.; and one sister-in-law, Patsy McIntire, of Seguin, Texas. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews, as well as special children, Bob Clyde, Mike Clyde, Gwen Hott and Nancy Luketich. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Lawrence McIntire and Alonzo Wilmer McIntire; and his wife, Mary Jane; and special friend, Violet Clyde. Services are at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 5, 2013, at Harrison- Metzger & Rans Funeral Homes, Kewanna Chapel, with Chaplain Jason See officiating. Visitation will be from noon-2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 5, 2013, at the funeral home. Burial with military rites will be conducted at Citizens I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Kewanna. Zartman Aug. 29, 1922 – Jan. 1, 2013 Mrs. Ruth H. ZARTMAN, 90, was surrounded by her loving family when she passed away at 4:40 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2013, at Pilgrim Manor, Plymouth. Ruth was born on Aug. 29, 1922, the precious daughter of Guy and Lily E. Johnson Hunter. As one of 12 Hunter children, she shared her childhood with three sisters, Lucille, Dorothy, and Peggy, and eight brothers, Larry, Russell, Arthur, Harry, Empy, Bill, Kelly and Robert. On June 17, 1939, in Rochester, Ruth married her best friend Dean L. Zartman. Their union spanned over six decades and was blessed with three children, Phyllis Marie, Carol Ann and Ernest Dean. Over the years, the family tree grew to include seven grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. In the early years, Ruth took great pride in flower and vegetable gardening around her home. As an accomplished seamstress, she tended to the family mending and made custom clothing. Once, she created a beautiful formal gown for one of her granddaughters to wear to a dance. To keep sharp, she enjoyed the challenges of word searches. The proud matriarch of four generations, Grandma Ruth especially enjoyed doting on her grandchildren and the great- grandchildren. Ruth is lovingly remembered by her two daughters, Phyllis Marie Calhoun and husband Robert, of Charlottesville, Va., and Carol Ann Allshouse, of Barberton, Ohio; one son, Ernest Dean Zartman and wife Lorna, of Plymouth; one sister, Peggy Ehlinger, of Rochester; two brothers, Larry Hunter and wife Ruth, of Rochester, and Russell Dean Hunter and wife Nancy, of Jensen Beach, Fla.; seven grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Preceding Ruth in death are her parents and beloved husband of 61 years, Dean Zartman. A celebration of the life of Mrs. Ruth H. Zartman will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 4, at the Good Family Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Rochester. Friends may visit with her family from 5-8 p.m. on Thursday and an hour prior to her services. Burial will take place in the Mt. Zion Cemetery. Gerald Lybarger Aug. 20, 1933 – Nov. 25, 2012 Gerald “Jack” LYBARGER, 79, of North Manchester, died at 2:26 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 25, 2012, at Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne. He was born Aug. 20, 1933, in Geneva, to Clarence and Marjorie A. (Smith) Lybarger. Jack was a 1951 graduate of Hoagland High School. Jack was a U.S. Army veteran serving in the Korean Conflict. He first married Mary Anne Owens on July 3, 1954; she died June 24, 1993. He then married Margene Abbott on July 26, 1997, in Rochester; she died Jan. 13, 2011. He retired from The Hardware Store in North Manchester, and also worked at Gaunt & Son Asphalt in Wabash and McMahan- O’Connor in Rochester. Jack was a member of the Manchester United Methodist Church and sang in the church choir. He was also a member of the Rochester Masonic Lodge, the South Bend Scottish Rite, the Fort Wayne Mizpah Shrine and Shrine Chanters. He could fix anything and loved history, animals, music and his country. He is survived by his 2 daughters, Laurel Lybarger, of Silver Lake, and Shaunn (Jeffrey) Munn, of Plymouth; one brother, Gary (Diane) Lybarger, of Hoagland; one sister, Dee Ann Blackburn, of Columbia City; five sisters- in-law, Jane Ann (Tom) Airgood and Mary Beth (Jon) Perkins, both of North Manchester; Carolyn Baumgartner, Donna Owens, and Linda Drake, all of Monmouth; and one brother-in-law, Ted Abbott, of Weeki Wachee, Fla. He was preceded in death by his sister, Nancy Springer. Jack’s memorial service will be at 3 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 5, 2013, at the United Methodist Church, North Manchester, with Pastor Kevin DeKoninck and Pastor Larry Ray officiating. The service will start with a Masonic service. Family will receive friends from 1-3 p.m. Saturday, at the church. Private family burial will be in Rochester I.O.O.F. Cemetery at a later date. Arrangements were made by Grandstaff-Hentgen, Bender Chapel, North Manchester. Preferred memorials are Shriners Hospital for Crippled Children or Epworth Forest Methodist Youth Camp. Arrangements are pending with Zimmerman Bros. Funeral Home, Fulton. Saturday, January 5, 2013 Freddie G. Rice June 10, 1939 – Jan. 3, 2013 Freddie G. RICE, 73, Fulton, passed away at 5:30 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 3, 2013, at his residence. He was born on June 10, 1939, in Moreland, Ky., the son of Fred and Essie (Thomas) Rice. Freddie had lived in Gravel Switch, Ky., Logansport, Twelve Mile, and Pendleton, prior to moving to Fulton in 1997. He served with the United States Air Force from 1959 to 1965. On Jan. 26, 1979, in Logansport, he married Elizabeth J. “Jan” Pittman, and she survives. Mr. Rice had been a safety hazard manager for the state of Indiana, having served over forty years in fire service. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, gardening and sitting and visiting on his front porch on Main Street in Fulton. Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth J. “Jan” Rice, Fulton; daughters, Brenda Whitaker and husband Steve Whitaker, Wetmore, Kan., and Sue Rice Schmitz and husband Kevin Schmitz, Netawaka, Kan.; stepson, Shawn “Mike” and wife Ute Fuller, Clarksville, Tenn.; stepdaughter, Kimberly and husband Brad Doyle, Monticello; 15 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; brothers, Curtis Rice, David and wife Bulah Rice and Joe Rice, all of Danville, Ky., sister, Lillian and husband Charlie Allender, Sandknob, Ky.; and special nephew, Tharren Stevens, Parksville, Ky. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Bonnie D. Rice; brothers, Michael Rice, Douglas Rice and Ottis Rice; sisters, Norma Rice and Nancy Reynolds; and sister-in-law, Ella Rice. Graveside services will be conducted at a later date at the Fulton Cemetery, Fulton.

    PAC-10 CONFERENCE PAC-12 CONFERENCE 1350 Treat Blvd., Suite 500, Walnut Creek, CA 94597 // PAC-12.ORG // 925.932.4411 For Immediate Release // Thursday, April 19, 2012 Contact // Natalia Ciccone ([email protected]) Four Pac-12 Gymnastics Teams Compete for Spots in NCAA Super Six WALNUT CREEK, Calif. — Four Pac-12 teams are headed to the 2012 National Collegiate Women’s Gymnastics Championships in Atlanta, Ga., Friday-Sunday, April 20-22. OREGON STATE, STANFORD, UCLA and UTAH earned spots in the competition. In addi- tion, three individuals from Pac-12 teams will compete in speci!c events. Pac-12 Champion UCLA posted the highest score at regionals of any Conference team and was the second-highest in the country, coming in !rst place at Fayetteville. The Utes posted a 196.825 at the Salt Lake City Regional, coming in second. The Beavers were second at the Auburn Regional with a 196.450 and Stanford was second at the Champaign Regional with a score of 196.675. Qualifying for the national competition in the all-around are ARIZONA’s Aubree Cristello (39.250 at the Seattle Regional) and WASH- INGTON’s Aliza Vaccher (39.225 at the Seattle Regional). Wildcat teammate Katie Matusik posted a 9.900 on the balance beam in Seattle and quali!ed on the event for the national competition. HOW THEY QUALIFIED The women’s gymnastics championships consist of 12 teams and 12 all-around competitors (who are not on a qualifying team) and individual event specialists. The top two teams and the top two all-around competitors from each of the six regionals have advanced to the national championships.

    SEASON Review 2013 Returning ALL-AMERICANS NEW CONFERENCE, SAME EXCELLENCE FOR NU IN 2012 academic All-Big Ten selection. Emily Wong solidified her role as one of Nebraska’s top all- around competitors in 2012, capturing first-team All-America honors on beam while adding second-team accolades on floor and in all-around competition. Wong competed in the all-around 12 times throughout the course of the season, picking up two individual all-around titles while adding five crowns on beam, three on floor and one apiece on bars and vault. One of Wong’s finest performances of the year came at the Big Ten Championships, where the sophomore won beam (9.900) and floor (9.900), on her way to Nebraska’s first Big Ten individual all-around title (39.600). Wong’s efforts earned her a spot on the All-Big Ten Championship team on vault, beam, floor and in the all-around. Wong also picked up first-team All-Big Ten honors as well as academic All-Big Ten accolades from the conference. Wong wrapped up her season by capturing the beam title (9.875) at the NCAA Salt Lake City Regional and finishing in 10th on beam (9.825) in the NCAA Individual Event Finals. The Nebraska women’s gymnastics team didn’t hold back talent on both apparatuses throughout the season, picking Freshman Jessie DeZiel had a stellar first season with the in their first season of Big Ten competition, capturing the up a total of five vault titles and nine bars titles as well as Huskers, winning a staggering 23 individual event titles, conference championship and taking second at the NCAA one all-around.
