Altarena Playhouse is excited to present the first show of the 2017 season, Tenderly, The Rosemary Clooney Musical. This exhilarating and inspiring new musical follows the journey of America’s favorite girl singer, Rosemary Clooney. After with her humble Midwest childhood, Clooney rose to Hollywood stardom and battled through depression to a triumphant comeback.

"Most people know Rosemary Clooney from the hundreds of albums she recorded and, of course, as the star of White Christmas. Tenderly explores the true story of the many personal challenges she faced while singing all of those beautiful songs and being labeled as "America's Girl Next Door." We are fortunate to have two fantastic actors in our production. One who portrays Ms. Clooney, and one who portrays the multiple other men and women who played major roles in her life. Her classic songs are seamlessly woven into the story, and help give us a glimpse of the real woman behind the beautiful voice," says Director Rachel Robinson.

Presented through her signature songs, Tenderly offers a remarkably personal and poignant picture of the woman whose unparalleled talent and unbridled personality made her a legend.
