The launch will take place in the Economic and Social Council Chamber on 11 October 2006 from 10 a.m. to 11.30 a.m., and will be chaired by Ms. Carolyn McAskie, Assistant Secretary-General for Peacebuilding Support. The Secretary-General is expected to deliver the keynote address. The Secretary-General invites participation at the senior level. Member States are kindly asked to return the attached registration form by 4 October 2006. This senior level meeting will provide an opportunity for Member States, the United Nations and the broader international community to mobilize political and financial support for the Peacebuilding Fund. Member States and other participants are encouraged to take the opportunity of this launch to demonstrate their continued support to countries emerging from conflict by making a financial commitment towards the Fund. In this context, Member States are invited to make brief statements and to indicate their intention to do so on the attached registration form.     Refugees and the Regional Dynamics of Peacebuilding APRIL 2011 Introduction By their very nature, refugee movements regionalize the effects of conflict as they spill over into neighboring territories. This is particularly true in the world's poorest and most unstable regions, where countries like Guinea, Tanzania, and Pakistan have opened their borders to hundreds of thousands of On May 3-4, 2010, the International refugees.
