Spudis (1952–2018) Dr. Spudis earned his master’s degree from Brown University and his Ph.D. from Arizona State University in Geology with a focus on the Moon. His career included work at the US Geological Survey, NASA, John Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory, and the Lunar and Planetary Institute advocating for the exploration and the utilization of lunar resources. His work will continue to inspire and guide us all on our journey to the Moon. “By going to the Moon we can learn how to extract what we need in space from what we find in space.
