    GRANI 23 (3) 2020 DOI: 10.15421/172034 УДК: 94(479.24) Armenian claims to Nakhchivan and its impact to the historical geography of the region (1918–1924s years) Nurlana Aliyeva, Nakhchivan Branch of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences Azerbaijan People Republic the new sovereign state, created in May 1918 in the Muslim East, has lived and worked in hard and difficult conditions for 23 months. The Republic had to fight against the political and economic policies of the world's major powers, including Russia, the United States, England and France, and resorted to all means to maintain its sovereignty, and faced very complex challenges along the way. Under the pressure of these states, on May 29, 1918, the National Council of Azerbaijan was forced to decide on the issue of Iravan to the armenians in order to maintain their sovereignty while discussing the border problem between Azerbaijan and Armenia and he considered this decision a "historic necessity", a "unavoidable disaster" for heartbreak. During the Azerbaijan People Republic, neighboring countries made a number of territorial claims against Azerbaijan. At that time, its territory was 113.895, 97 sq. km. Its 97,296,67 sq. km was undeniable, and 16,598,30 sq. km was disputed. To resolve such issues, the Treaty of Friendship was first signed on June 4, 1918, between the Ottoman Empire and the Republic of Azerbaijan. It was the first agreement signed by the Azerbaijan People Republic with any foreign state. The second article of the Batumi Treaty sets the border between Azerbaijan, Georgia and Armenia.

RESUMEN: Los armenios intentaron establecer un estado después de la consolidación en los territorios donde fueron trasladados por Rusia. Los armenios se ocupan de la existencia de un "estado armenio" artificial en el siglo IV; sin embargo, tal estado no existió en la historia, tal vez fue como un organismo local de autoadministración. Aunque el tratado de Turkmenchai, en el que la Rusia victoriosa instó al derrotado estado de Gajar a firmar en la primera mitad del siglo XIX, fue considerado una oportunidad para los armenios, más tarde provocó la instigación de los conflictos nacionales en el sur del Cáucaso. Los armenios se establecieron en Irevan, Kharabakh y Nakhchivan, que eran partes integrales de la antigua tierra turca, Azerbaiyán. Sobre la base de los hechos históricos, es posible señalar que las regiones de Irevan, Kharabakh y Nakhchivan eran partes de los términos geográficos de Azerbaiyán. The development way of general secondary education in Nakhchivan during the Soviet period was followed briefly and evaluated based on available base sources. They also analyzed the education reforms carried out in Nakhchivan during the years of independence, improving the material and technical base of schools, the implementation of State programs, the sources of important achievements, and the statistics. It was noted that, during the years of independence Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic the educational policy of the country has been successfully implemented, reconstruction of the new requirements level secondary educational institutions, providing new technologies, enriching the human potential, educating young people in the national spirit, education has always been in the spotlight, meeting modern standards;development of secondary general education continued with increasing line. As a result, today almost all secondary schools in the Autonomous Republic have been substantially reconstructed, the material and technical base strengthened, the computer technology provided, and the high level of education is being provided through the use of modern teaching methods.
