Since becoming a commuter, Saturdays are my days to run around and do errands, and Sundays are my days to lie around and do NOTHING. I need that downtime. It's my "me time" and it's my way of recharging my batteries for the long days and crazy commuting I do during the week. During the Summer we're up north at our summer share, but during the Winter and Early Spring we're home and Mr. Big thought it would be really fun to make Sundays "Soup-er Sundays" and make a different soup each week. So to help us prepare for a long winter and warm soup bellies, I've put together this list of 29 Soup-er Soups and their SmartPoints. If you're not a Weight Watcher member, the calorie value for each soup is included in the recipe - I checked! • Fish Stew This Is a Super Easy, Hearty Recipe That's Also Very Versatile. You
Fish Stew This is a super easy, hearty recipe that’s also very versatile. You can use any amounts of different fish and shellfish and to make it even more filing, add some cooked new potatoes, chickpeas or beans. Greens like spinach, green beans or peas also work really well. Using our homemade fish soup as a base, this dish is inspired by the famous French fish stew bouillabaisse from the port city of Marseilles. It’s a very fragrant stew to which you can add a variety of fish and shellfish. All of the following ingredients are available in our shop. Ingredients: 200g salmon or mixed firm fish 1 tub Sandys fish soup ¼ bunch of parsley roughly chopped 1 lemon 1 pot of Rouille red pepper sauce - optional Tip: To test the fish use a thin knife or skewer and push into the thickest part of the fish, if it slides in with no resistance or springiness it’s done! Place a large dollop of Rouille sauce on top the stew, with a lemon wedge and dressing of parsley before serving. Method: - Put the sauce in a pan - Place the salmon on top placing a lid on the pan and steadily bring the stew up to the boil - Once it starts to bubble, reduce the heat to a gentle simmer until the fish is cooked this should take about 12 – 15 minutes - If using raw shellfish cook in the sauce for approximately 5 minutes until they are all open - If using our frozen seafood mix or cooked shellfish make sure it is defrosted and simply heat through in the sauce - If the sauce gets to thick just add a touch of water .

  • CHEZ FRANÇOIS Restaurant Volume 25 Issue 1
Spring 2012 CHEZ FRANÇOIS Restaurant Volume 25 Issue 1 555 Main Street, Vermilion, Ohio 44089 • www.Chezfrancois.com • A publication for friends and guests of Chez François. Dear Friend of Chez François, Thank you for your patronage this past year. We feel blessed to have you as our guest and we look forward to continued success this coming year. Fair, fair...what is all this talk about fairness? Few things are ever truly fair. It seems those who complain about fairness are the ones that don’t really do anything. They never learn that you have to work hard in life, yet feel entitled to many rights they never earned. When in fact, the only right they have in America is the right of Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. From early childhood we were taught that if you believe in an idea and work hard to execute and have faith in that idea, then you will be successful. It is easy to have an idea, but quite another to commit the time and effort on a daily basis. Inevitably, there will be negative influences along the way and those who will try to criticize, but diligence and persistence guide one through these times. Criticism is fine, as long as it’s constructive and one learns and improves from it, which is what we’ve done for the past 25 years...always striving for improvement in the pursuit of excellence. So if others are more successful than we are, bear in mind it is likely the result of a great deal of time and devotion towards a solid concept and often of great sacrifice too.

  • Traditional Chinese Medicine Medicated Diet Recipe Book
Traditional Chinese Medicine Medicated Diet Recipe Book Cindy Cheng D.Ac. D.CHM D.TCMP Anita Siu D.Ac. D.CHM D.TCMP Jessica Rea D.Ac. Yuki Minesaki D.Ac. Caroline Prodoehl D.Ac. Preface Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) is a school of medicine that originated in China thousands of years ago. It consists of a very comprehensive system of diagnosis, differentiation and treatment based on theories deeply rooted in Chinese culture and philosophy. TCM takes a holistic approach to both the understanding and treatment of the human body. This means that everything in the universe is interconnected and mutually affects each other to varying degrees. Similarly, TCM treatments don’t focus on the condition of the patient’s body alone. They take into account such environmental factors as the patient’s lifestyle and diet. As such, a large part of the efficacy of TCM is due to the suggested lifestyle changes that not only prolong the effects of the treatment, but also improves the overall health of the patients and prevents them from having relapses and/or contracting other diseases. Dietary therapy or medicated diet is perhaps the most effective and most commonly suggested by TCM practitioners. As the name suggests, medicated diet involves treating and preventing diseases by making changes in one’s diet. A TCM practitioner will suggest certain foods to eat while other foods to avoid based on each individual’s body condition. In addition, Chinese medicinal herbs are often incorporated into the daily diet to further enhance the effect of the dietary changes. This recipe book is a compilation of over 100 recipes that incorporate certain foods and herbs to treat and prevent a multitude of diseases.
