He also holds the charge of Additional Secretary, Urban Development and Commissioner in Corporation of the City of Panaji . He has worked as Chief officer in Grade 1 municipalities. Dr. Suresh Kumar Rohilla , Dr. Rohilla holds a doctoral degree from Queen’s University Belfast, Programme Director - Water, UK. He was a Fulbright Fellow affiliated at University of California, Centre for Science & Environment Berkeley and is Visiting Fellow at School of Planning, Architecture and (CSE), New Delhi Civil Engg., Queen’s University Belfast. Currently he is the Head of the Centre of Excellence in Sustainable Water Management of Ministry of Urban Development and National Key Resource Centre working for the Ministry of Drinking Water & Sanitation, Government of India. He has a vast experience in planning and development of area development/township and infrastructure projects in the area of water and environmental sustainability in the urban context. He has been nominated as the expert member of the various committees set up by Central / State Governments and international professional bodies. Dr. M ahreen Matto , Senior Dr Matto holds a doctorate degree in Environmental Biotechnology Research Associate, CSE, New from Aligarh Muslim University, India. She has published 9 Delhi international research articles in the field of industrial wastewater treatment by enzymes in reputed journals like Journal of Hazardous Materials, Chemosphere, Journal of Molecular Catalysis B: Enzymatic, etc. She also has experience in journal production and research. Has supervised post graduate students in their summer research projects at Department of Biochemistry, Aligarh Muslim University, India from 2005-2008. Currently she is working with the Water management unit at CSE on Sustainable water management and Decentralized wastewater recycles and reuse. D.G.S . Borkar, Chief Engineer, Mr. Borker has vast experience in road, building and water supply Public Works Department, Goa sector. Presently he is the Chief Engineer, PWD, Goa looking at the water supply and sewerage of the state. He holds a Master’s degree from Goa University. Dr. Nidhi Pasi Dr Pasi has a doctorate in Environment and Natural Resources Policy Programme Officer, CSE, New from State University of New York – College of Environmental Delhi Sciences and Forestry, New York, USA. She also has a Master’s in Public Administration with specialization in Environmental Policy from Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs, Syracuse University, NY, USA. Currently she is Programme Officer (Capacity Building and Training) in the Water Programme, Centre for Science & Environment, New Delhi. She has about 7 years of experience of working with non- governmental, governmental agencies and universities in the field of water resources management, planning and decision making. Pradeep Kumar, Director – India Mr. Kumar has vast experience in the field of public and private sector Office, Alliance to Save Energy, energy efficiency (EE), clean energy, sustainable development and Bangalore CDM programs. His expertise covers EE program in water supply and street lighting systems, buildings, SME cluster, and energy efficiency procurement. He has been instrumental in providing strategic and technical advice to various government and international development agencies in India and developed three state wide municipal energy efficiency programs in India covering more than 200 municipalities’ including water utilities. He has a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and post graduate in Energy Engineering. Prof. Somnath Sen Prof. Sen did his doctorate from Indian Institute of Technology Associate Professor, Department of Kharagpur. He is currently working as Associate Professor, Regional Workshop on ‘Energy and Resource Efficiency in Urban Water Management ’ September 27, 2013, Goa Architecture & Planning, IIT Department of Architecture & Regional Planning, IIT, Kharagpur. Prof. Kharagpur Sen has guided three PhD students, published in a number of Monographs, conferences and journals (international and national) and worked on 5 industrial consultancy perspective plans. He has the following honours/distinctions to his credit: Fellow Member of Institute of Town Planners India (FITP-84/35); Associate Member of Indian Institute of Architects (AR-8517); AIPA: Associate Member of Indian Institute of Public Administration, (O-466). Prof. Shyam Asolekar, Head, Dr. Asolekar holds a Master’s degree from Indian Institute of Science, Centre for Environmental Science Bangalore (1985). Subsequently, he went to the U.S. to obtain his and Engineering, IIT Mumbai M.S. and PhD in Environmental Engineering from Syracuse University (1987) and University of Iowa (1991), respectively. After pursuing his postdoctoral studies at the Harvard University in Boston he returned to India in January 1993 to teach at the Centre for Environmental Science and Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay; where he is a Professor now. Presently, Dr. Asolekar is a member of the “Dahanu Taluka Environmental Protection Authority” entrusted with conservation of the eco-fragile region of Dahanu Taluka and surroundings constituted by the Honorable Supreme Court of India. He is also serving as the President of the Indian Environmental Association (IEA) for 2003-2005. Earlier, Dr. Asolekar assisted the Central Pollution Control Board, Ministry of Environment and Forest, Delhi in formulating the “Guidelines for Construction and Operation of Safe Hazardous Waste Landfills” and “Draft of Emission Standards for Hazardous Wastes Incinerator”. He was also a member of the SAARC Expert Group constituted by the Ministry of Environment and Forest, New Delhi for harmonization of India’s stand on the Basal Convention and hazardous waste rules with other SAARC countries. Dr. Asolekar's area of research include hazardous waste management, recycling and recovery, waste minimization in the chemical industry, modeling of global atmospheric chemical dynamics, the disposal and transportation of toxic pollutants into aquatic ecosystems and the use of remote sensing for marine pollution monitoring. He has made conscious efforts for promoting environmental awareness using media, advising industrial workers, schools and colleges, addressing group meetings and arranging field trips. Rajesh Pai , CDDS , Bangalore Rajesh Pai H. holds a Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering from Manipal Institute of Technology, Manipal, Mangalore University (1998). He is presently working as Director – Planning and Infrastructure at CDD Society in Bangalore. He has undertaken a professional certificate course on Urban Infrastructure Planning from Centre for Environmental Planning and Technology (CEPT), Ahmedabad in 2009. He holds a wide-ranging experience of more than 15 years in handling large to mid-size civil engineering project operations in private and development sectors. He has the domain expertise in engineering technologies for sustainable and cost-effective solutions for community based sanitation (CBS) systems, decentralised wastewater treatment projects (DEWATS), public sanitation and environment/eco-friendly sewage/wastewater management projects for small and medium scale private enterprises. Dirk Walther, Senior Advisor, GIZ - Mr. Walther is MSc in Water resource management from University of India Northeast Lower Saxony and MSc in Geology from University of Göttingen. Presently he is Senior Advisor for the Indo-German Environmental Programme ASEM at GIZ. He has a fine Research experience in Water and Sanitation, Water treatment technologies and Fresh/Saline water interfaces. He has done various project works; publications; presentations and training programs in areas of Decentralized domestic waste water treatment systems, Conservation of surface water environments, Integrated Water Resource Management (IWRM) in rural water supply and Ground water storage and exploration from non-consolidated aquifers. He has also been advisor to different state Pollution control boards and established environmental consultancy firms. Sandeep T. Nadkarni, Chief Mr Nadkarni did his Mtech from University of Roorkee in 1986 and Engineer & Ex-Officio Addl MBA from Goa Institute of management in 2011. Presently he is Secretary to GoG, Water Resources holding the position of Chief Engineer & Ex-Officio Addl Secretary to Department, Goa GoG, Water Resources Department, Goa. He is fellow of Institution of Engineers(I), Fellow of Indian Water Works Association, Fellow of Indian Association of Hydrologists and Fellow of Institution of Bridge Engineers(I).
