The Honorable The Honorable Speaker Majority Leader H-232, U.S. Capitol H-107, U.S. Capitol Washington, DC 20515 Washington, DC 20515

Dear Speaker Pelosi and Leader Hoyer:

With the announcement of an infrastructure framework that has bipartisan support from the president, senators, and members of the House of Representatives, Congress has an opportunity to make a generational, long-term investment in America’s economic future and create millions of jobs. In 2020, the pandemic forged moments of bipartisan cooperation, and as we emerge from that crisis, we should continue to work together across party lines whenever possible to deliver for the people we were elected to serve.

Majority Leader Schumer has said he intends to pass legislation through the Senate along the lines of the bipartisan infrastructure framework by the end of this congressional work period. We strongly urge — and pledge to work with you to bring about — a House vote on this legislation before the August recess and without any unnecessary or artificial delay upon arrival from the Senate.

Americans elected President Biden to run an effective government that delivers results. We believe our constituents expect the same from us. The bipartisan infrastructure framework holds the promise of legislation that will not only create jobs across the country and further boost our economic recovery, but also help restore our constituents’ faith that their elected officials can look beyond partisan differences to get things done. No matter their state, district, or party affiliation, every American will benefit from investments in the bridges, roads, rail, ports, and broadband that they use to reach their jobs, education, health care, and loved ones. The potential benefits are too great and the needs too urgent to delay even a day in sending such a bill to the president’s desk.

Thank you for your service to the House of Representatives and our nation. We stand ready to enact bipartisan infrastructure legislation in the coming weeks and hope to have your support in delivering this victory for the American people.

Sincerely,
