Whisperwoods introduces a private Facebook Group and a new Membership Portal
Your board of directors would like to introduce two recently created tools that will benefit Whisperwoods owners and residents.
New Whisperwoods.org membership portal – A new membership portal has been implemented that will better reduce the likelihood of spam and better protect user privacy. Existing memberships can not be ported to the new system, so owners and residents are being asked to create a new Whisperwoods.org account. The process will require just a few minutes and you may use the same username and password if you wish. You may create a combined account for couples (as shown in the example below) or you may choose to create multiple accounts using different email addresses.
Facebook private group for Whisperwoods owners and residents – A Facebook secret group called Whisperwoods has been created for the exclusive use of Whisperwoods owners and residents. The group is moderated by our webmaster to ensure a G-rated social network experience and to ensure that only owners and residents participate. This type of group can be found by its members alone and only group members can see who is in the group and what they post. This Facebook page can be used to collaborate with neighbors, share events and concerns, share pictures and videos, ask questions, and post just about anything you might post on any other social media platform; limited of course, by our G-rating expectations. Membership within the group will be closely monitored and primarily based upon the Whisperwoods.org membership described above. Please invite only owners and residents noting that all invitee requests will automatically pass thru the webmaster for approval. Alternatively, if you wish to invite a resident into our group, you may ask them to write to the webmaster with their request. Ownership and residency status will be verified before group access is granted. The webmaster can be reached through Whisperwoods.org > WebMaster link.
The process – When an owner or resident creates a Whisperwoods.org account, the webmaster will use their email information to send a Facebook secret group invitation. When the Facebook invitation arrives simply follow the link to open the group page or create a Facebook account for group access.
So, let’s setup your Whisperwoods.org account – Set a stopwatch; this will be quick!
1) Go to Whisperwoods.org 2) Click on the “Membership” link 3) Select “Click HERE to open the Whisperwoods Membership registration form.” 4) Complete the form noting that all fields are required then select the blue Register button at the bottom of the page. 5) A popup screen will direct you to activate your account. Go to your email account where after a few minutes an activation message will appear. Open the message and select the black Activate your Account button. This action will both activate your Whisperwoods.org account and produce an email acknowledgement. 6) Optional actions - Please take a few additional moments to customize your account with a photo or two and a brief statement about yourself. This optional information will be visible to group members only and is meant to assist as neighbor gets to know neighbor. Customize your account as follows: a. Go to Whisperwoods.org > Membership > Log In b. Select “Your Account” c. Tap on the gray blank image to update your image(s) d. After updating your image(s), use the “Why not add some information!” link to include a brief (180 character) statement introducing yourself to our neighbors. e. Select the blue Update Profile button to save your updates. 7) You are finished. The webmaster will use your registered email address to both add you to the community email distribution and send you a Facebook secret group invitation.
Note: If others within your household wish to have their own Whisperwoods.org account and Facebook Whisperwoods group access, simply create a Whisperwoods.org account for each person using their unique email address and the webmaster will ensure they receive their own Facebook group invitation.
