FUNKCIONALNA ULOGA MUZIKE I MUZI ČKE PRODUKCIJE U O ČUVANJU NACIONALNE KULTURE REZIME Predmet rada i istraživanja koje je u osnovi ove doktorske disertacije temelji se u kontekstualnom sagledavanju uloge muzike u očuvanju i promociji nacionalne kulture, a kroz povezivanje delatnosti i delovanja javnog medijskog servisa – RTS i njegove Muzi čke produkcije kao organizaciono-produkcione jedinice kojoj je primarno poveren zadatak sa navedenom misijom. Obzirom da je predmet rada je kompleksan, diskurs prou čavanja je fokusiran na programe Radio Beograda - Prvi program, Drugi program, Tre ći program, Beograd 202 i muzi čki program Stereorama, kao i na Zvu čni arhiv. U obradi ovako definisanog predmeta rada, koriš ćeno je nekoliko teorijskih diskursa, po čev od teorija javnog servisa, kojima se definišu specifi čnosti modela medijskih ustanova kojima je poverena uloga da budu promoteri i zaštitnici interesa javnosti; potom teorije nacije i nacionalnog identiteta, ali i sociološko-kulturološke teorije, koje ukazuju na potrebu kulturološkog definisanja nacionalne kulture. Okosnicu rada činila je pretpostavka, koja je velikim delom i kvalitetno potvr đena, da su muzi čki sadržaji koji su producirani u okvirima Muzi čke produkcije RTS, i koja se plasira kroz programe javnog servisa, jedno od najzna čajnijih programskih sredstava putem koga se reprezentuje nacionalna kultura. Pomenuto implicira da izborom i realizacijom, snimanjem, prenosima i arhiviranjem muzi čkih sadržaja, osnivanjem i razvojem umetni čkih ansambala, javni radiodifuzni servis ostvaruje svoju osnovnu funkciju i opravdava zadatke koje su mu povereni od strane javnosti i društva. U tom smislu muzika se kao programski sadržaj odlikuje snažnim komunikacijskim kapacitetima i njene programske funkcije i efekti delovanja čvrsto je povezani sa razli čitim društvenim segmentima po čev od istorijskih i društvenih prilika do kulture i umetnosti. Empirijska i statisti čka analiza koja je sprovedena u radu, a kojom se dovode u vezu muzi čki sadržaji koji su nastali u okvirima Muzi čke produkcije RTB, odnosno RTS, sa ukupnim muzi čkim sadržajima koji su emitovani u programu, potvrdila je zna čaj i važnost sopstvene muzi čke produkcije javnog servisa, koja se prepoznaje kao deo aktivne medijske ponude. Za potrebe istraživanja utvr đene su dve periodizacije, koje su analiti čki posmatrane. Prvom su obuhva ćena tri istorijska perioda u delovanju Radio Beograda: period od 1965- 1968. godine, zatim od 1985-1988, i period od 2005-2008. godine. Odabrani su na osnovu istraživa čkih saznanja da su se u okviru njih dešavale zna čajne promene u koncepciji programa Radio Beograda, a okarakterisale su ih i razli čite društveno-politi čke konotacije koje su, tako đe, posledi čno uticale i na program. Drugom su obuhva ćene Muzi čke produkcije RTB, odnosno RTS, u okviru definisanih perioda-uzoraka. Kroz analizu podataka o kvantitetu muzi čkih programa vlastite produkcije u odnosu na ukupne muzi čke sadržaja koji su ispunjavali program, istraživanjem je dokazano da dela nacionalne kulture zauzimaju preko polovine ukupno produciranih muzi čkih sadržaja i da je ovaj trend permanentan i u svim analiziranim periodima. Istovremeno javni nastupi, trajni snimci i direktni prenosi nastupa umetni čkih ansambala snažno su reprezentovali nacionalno muzi čko stvaralaštvo, autorski i izvo đački rad koji je oslikavao tematsko, stilsko i idejno jedinstvo u smislu promocije nacionalnog stvaralaštva i stvaranja finog balansa izme đu svetske i nacionalne kulturne tradicije. Na osnovu rezultata emipirijskog istraživanja, kao i istorijskih istraživanja koja su obuhvatila istorijat Radio Beograda, kao i hronološko sagledavanje, od osnivanja do danas, delovanja ansambala Muzi čke produkcije RTS, odnosno RTS, u radu je zaklju čeno da se ansambli Muzi čke produkcije mogu definisati kao strateški zna čajni u cilju promocije i javne prezentacije nacionalnog kulturnog nasle đa, koja je u razli čitim istorijskim kontekstima imala druga čiju percepciju. U tom smislu Muzi čka produkcija, njeni produkti i rad ansambala definišu se se kao specifikumi javnog servisa koji doprinose tematizovanju muzi čkog programa. Oni se pozicioniraju kao potencijalni klju čni moderatori programa uopšte, čija bi zna čajnija iskoriš ćenost podrazumevala i promenu percepcije samog medija u odnosu na mogu ćnosti njihovog involviranja u programske aktivnosti. Ovaj proces doprinosi i promeni percepcije njene uloge i od organizacinog dela javnog servisa zaduženog za produkciju muzike do jednog od dominantnih moderatora kulturnih sadržaja u programima. Na taj na čin Muzi čka produkcija preuzima na sebe i edukativnu ulogu, jednu od osnovnih uloga javnog servisa, čime se pozicionira i kao zna čajna kulturna institucija koja deluje u pravcu unapre đenja muzi čke kulture. Pomenuta odgovornost ukazuje i na neophodnost ka modifikovanju menadžmenta javnog servisa u pravcu planiranja, organizovanja, uticanja i kontrole organizacionih ciljeva, čiji je zadatak da se postigne konstruktivnije involviranje delovanja Muzi čke produkcije u okviru programa javnog servisa. Navedeno implicira zaklju čak da se unapre đenjem menadžmenta javnog servisa unapre đuje i modalitet oblikovanja sadržaja kulture na programima, čime se aktivno deluje na formiranje kulturne svesti publike. U tom procesu, u kome zna čajno mesto ima muzika, Muzi čka produkcija se pozicionira kao referentni moderator programa kulture, čija uloga u o čuvanju nacionalne kulture predstavlja jednu od strateški najzna čajnijih funkcija javnog servisa. Klju čne re či: javni servis, Radio-televizija Srbije, Radio Beograd, Muzi čka produkcija, kultura, nacionalna kultura FUNCTIONAL ROLE OF MUSIC AND MUSIC PRODUCTION IN PRESERVING NATIONAL CULTURE SUMMARY The research subject of this doctoral dissertation is based on contextual analysis of the role of music in preserving and promoting national culture through connection of activities of public media service – RTS and its Music production, organizational unit with that purpose as the main task. Considering that the subject is complex, the discourse of the study is focused on programs of Radio Beograd – Radio Belgrade 1, Radio Belgrade 2, Radio Belgrade 3, Belgrade 202 and music program Stereorama and Sound Archive. The treatment of the subject includes few scientific discourses, starting with theory of public service which define specificity of the model of media houses that have the role to promote and protect public interest; then comes the theory of the nation and national identity as well as sociological and cultural theory which points to the need of cultural defining of the national culture. The framework of the disertation is an assumption, which is largely confirmed, that the music content produced in the programs of Music production of RTS, and presented in programs of public service, is one of the most important programming means by which the national culture is represented. It implies that selection, realization, recording, transmitting and archiving musical contents, organizing and developing music ensembles, public radio service realizes its main function and justifies tasks given by the public and the society. In that sense, music as programming content is characterized by strong communication capacities and its programming function and effects are connected with various segments of the society, from historical and social conditions to culture and art. Empirical and statistical analysis conducted, and connected with musical contents produced by Music production of RTB (RTS) with complete musical content transmitted in their programs, confirmed the importance of the music production of public service, recognized as part of the active media offer. The research analyzes two periods. In the first, there are three historicl periods in the activity of Radio Beograd: from 1965 till 1968, from 1985 till 1988 and from 2005 till 2008. The selection is based on research knowledge that in these periods happened important changes in the programming concept of Radio Belgrade, and they are characterized with various socio-political connotations that consequently influenced the programs. The second one presents Music production RTB (RTS) within the defined time segments. Through analysis of the data related to the quality of music programs of its own production related to complete programming content, it is proved that the works of national culture take over half of the total content produced and that this trend is permanent in all analized periods of time. At the same time, public interpretatios, recordings and live transmissions of performances of artistic ensembles represented nacional music creations which presented unity in subject, style and idea in the sense of promoting national creativity and making a balance betweek the world and national cultural tradition. Based on the results of the empirical research, as well as historic investigations which included history of Radio Beograd, and chronological overview, from the beginning till today, of the activity of ensembles of Music production RTS , the research concludes that the ensembles can

Precise determination of the date when these clips were made, in most cases is not possible, but there are some facts which indicate that the earliest were recorded in the first dec- ade of the twentieth century. The youngest ones date from the mid-fifties of last century. His Master's Voice, Odeon, Jumbola, Edison Bell Record, Homocord, Jugoton and Gramophone Concert Record, are some of the most famous publishing houses of the first half of the twentieth century whom published pearls of Bosnian Sev- dah. Launching the project Digitization of old gramophone records on 78 rpm five years ago, National Library of Serbia preserved and made accessible beautiful sounds of the old Bosnia. Some of them are already available on the website of the National Digital Library of Serbia, at http://digital.nb.rs/scc/muzikalije.php.     Преглед НЦД 17 (2010), 65–69 Vesna Aleksandrović National Library of Serbia BULBUL PJEVA – BOSNIAN SOUL ECHOES FROM THE OLD GRAMOPHONE Abstract. National Library of Serbia’s collection of old gramophone records includes some of Bosnian songs performed by Bosnian and Serbian performers. Precise determination of the date when these clips were made, in most cases is not possible, but there are some facts which indicate that the earliest were recorded in the first dec- ade of the twentieth century. The youngest ones date from the mid-fifties of the last century. His Master's Voice, Odeon, Jumbola, Edison Bell Record, Homocord, Jugoton and Gramophone Concert Record, are some of the most famous publishing houses of the first half of the twentieth century which published pearls of Bosnian Sevdah. Launching the project Digitization of old gramophone records on 78 rpm five years ago, National Li- brary of Serbia preserved and made accessible beautiful sounds of the old Bosnia. Some of them are already available on the website of the National Digital Library of Serbia, at http://digital.nb.rs/scc/muzikalije.php. We donate these recordings to Bosnian public and National and University Library of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Keywords. Život u SFRJ za vrijeme Tita I SKJ ___________________________________________________________________________ Danas je poželjno još jednom pogled baciti na vrijeme u kome smo živjeli nakon oslobođenja posebno u pedesetim, šezdesetim, sedamdesetim i osamdesetim godinama života u prošlom vijeku. Mnogi sudionici života u tom perioda bez obzira na generacijsku pripadnost kažu da je to bio lijep i sretan period života koji smo živjeli. Jugoslavija do koje se došlo preko mosta NOR-a od 1941-45 godine bila je sasvim druga stvarnost u odnosu na siromaštvo i nerazvijenost u kojoj su ljudi živjeli prije drugog svjetskog rata. Kao sudionici držimo u svježem sjećanju dio svog života kog smo živjeli u savremenoj i modernoj Jugoslaviji. Mi kao savremenici imali smo sreću da živimo zajedno u jednoj državi koja je stvarana po mjeri čovjeka i koja je formirana kao zajednica života. Živjeli smo na prostranstvu od Slovenije, kao najsjevernije Socijalističke republike do Makedonije kao najužnije Republike. Da se podsjetimo i ukratko prođemo tim vremenom i prostranstvom. 1 Život u SFRJ za vrijeme Tita I SKJ ___________________________________________________________________________ SR SLOVENIJA Socijalistička republika Slovenija bila je po prostranstvu i broju stanovnika među manjima u SFRJ. Međutim Slovenija i Slovenci su imali svoj osobejan duh koji je oplemenjivao našu zajednicu. Unutar Slovenije je bila naša najveća planina Triglav ispod koje izvire naša najveća rijeka Sava. Najveći grad i glavni grad SR Slovenije bila je Ljubljana. Pored Ljubljane veći gradovi bili su: Maribor, Celje, Velenje, Portorož, Postojna, Krško, Murska Sobota, Novo Mesto, Kranj, Bled, Koper, Sežana i još neka mjesta. Slovenija je imala svoju obalu Jadranskog mora, i predivna jezera Bohinjsko i Bledsko.

    Middle Eastern Studies, Vol. 44, No. 5, 715–734, September 2008 Out of the Ruins of the Ottoman Empire: Reflections on the Ottoman Legacy in South-eastern Europe EDIN HAJDARPASˇ IC´ The Ottoman past remains one of the most controversial historical subjects across much of the Balkans. Amid the violent state-building projects that emerged in Yugoslavia after the 1980s, for example, images of the Ottoman legacy steadily gained more visibility not only in the newly-produced history textbooks, but also in political debates, on television screens, and literally on the streets of towns and villages where different constituencies aggressively contested places associated with the Ottoman past. In the city of Banja Luka during the 1992–95 war, the Bosnian Serb paramilitaries went about the work of destroying most of the Ottoman-era urban structures like clock-towers, cemeteries, and especially mosques, including the renowned sixteenth-century Ferhadija mosque that was blown up over the course of a single night in May 1993. Years after the war, the city sanitation service ‘Cleanliness’ (Cˇistoc´a) continued to remove gravestones, trees, and other remaining ruins until the Ferhadija site was completely levelled. When reconstruc- tion was proposed in 1998, the Serb mayor of Banja Luka reacted indignantly, warning the international community officials that the mosque was ‘a monument of the cruel Turkish occupation’ and any plans for its rebuilding ‘would be perceived by the Serbian people as the blackest humiliation’.1 As the reconstruction plans nonetheless proceeded to the point of organizing a small symbolic ceremony in May 2001, a massive organized protest blocked this event; thousands of Serb demonstrators marched around the empty Ferhadija site, many pelting the delegation of Bosnian Muslims and international community officials with stones, burning the nearby buses and cars, and shouting ‘This is Serbia’ and ‘Kill the Turks’.
