SA-Z Undocu/DACA Friendly Colleges of the Southwest - PUBLIC Directions WHAT IS THE UNDOCU/DACA FRIENDLY COLLEGE LIST? This Undocu/DACA friendly college list is a compilation of over 300 public/private, 2 year/4 year schools across the Southwest region. WHY DID SA-Z MAKE THIS LIST? The purpose of this document is to serve as a starting guide to the school search in and outside your state. By scanning through the list you'll be able to see which schools give financial aid and offer you scholarships regardless of status and state of residence. WHERE DID WE GET THIS INFO FROM? The information was collected based off financial aid policies stated on school websites, emails to financial aid advisors, and calls to financial aid offices. WHAT DID WE FIND OUT THAT YOU SHOULD KNOW BEFORE YOU SEARCH? It is important to note that many of the schools do not have clearly defined policies (as it was common for financial aid advisors to not have answers and ask coworkers for answers). Many may have known policies for undocumented students residing in their state because that is their predominant population, but have no set policy for out-of-state undocumented students. So while financial aid and scholarsihp eligibility recorded on the college list comes from responses given to me, these responses may change over time (perhaps with the enrollment of more undocumented students in these schools). HOW DO I USE THIS LIST? Since this document is not continuously being updated, I recommend students contact the schools they are interested in to confirm what resources those schools have for them. Some may have ways to provide institutional funds to undocumented students with the completion of a paper FAFSA, CSS profile, or an alternative school financial aid form. Financial aid and scholarship eligibility may also vary between first-year students and transfer students and the information given by schools often assumes it is for a first-year student. Therefore, since most policies are not set in stone and there may be differences in policies for different types of students, I suggest for students to use the college list to get a general overview of how much financial and on-campus support schools may have, but to contact them for more details.
