The KTK stands as the oldest, extant version of a biographical dictionary of the early Muslim community and has been canonized as an authority on the lives of individuals who are perceived as the exemplary model (al-salaf al-ṣaliḥ) for later Muslims generations. As critical historiography suggests a strong link between a historical narrative and the socio-political context in which it was created, the two hundred year gap between the time of authorship of the KTK and the period which it narrates could have had a significant impact on the author’s discourse. Especially that the work was authored during the vibrant ʽAbbasid period of Harun al-Rashid and al-Maʾmun ; a time that witnessed the production of the Sunni intellectual narratives of hadith collections, schools of jurisprudence (fiqh), as well as major historical annals. Gender representation is a particularly intriguing area of examination; therefore, this study identifies and analyzes main themes and topoi in Ibn Saʽd’s portrayal of prominent women (the Prophet’s wives and daughters) in relation to the local traditions in Iraq and developing fiqh legislation. The themes are compared to Ibn Sa’d’s presentation of other “common” women as well as to prominent men and gauged against biographical works by other authors to assess how such women were presented differently. In conducting this study, the researcher has utilized inductive, historical, critical and analytical methodologies. The Albanian lands in the Balkan Peninsula were governed and ruled by the Islamic Ottoman Empire for almost five centuries. Historically, to some extent and despite the conflicts and clashes, Albanians were able to show to the world a very good sample of peace, unity and harmony among themselves, as a multi religious and multi ethnic society. The attention and the engagement of the Albanian Ulema with the Qur’anic sciences have been tremendous since the spread of Islam, and have to be taken into consideration. Despite the tough and serious political, economic and religious challenges in the 19th and 20th centuries, they were not distracted from conducting their learning and teaching affaires. As a result of very close contacts and relations with different ideologies, cultures and civilizations within the Ottoman mixed ethnicity and in the middle-east, the researcher based on different sources, was able to identify and discover Sunni Maturidi dogmatic approach in dealing with Quranic Exegesis in the Commentary of Sheikh Hafiz Ibrahim Dalliu-a case study. The results and conclusions of this study are to be taken into consideration also, especially when we know that the current and modern historical sources of Albania are deviated almost completely and not to be trusted at all, because they failed to show to the Albanian people a real picture of Islam.

This paper attempts to study international law of Islam and compare it with the international law notions of Roman law. It first evaluates claims of the Orientalists about the Islamic law in general and then compares International law of Islam with the Roman notions of international law. It concludes that, at least in the case of international law, Islamic law is not influenced by Roman Law because development, sources, literature or discourse related to and topics of siyar are distinct than the Roman jus gentium and jus fetiale. This indicates that siyar developed in a very different atmosphere and independently through reasoning of Muslim jurists and hence the two systems are independent of each other. It is proven that he recanted from this position as Shaykh Mustafa al-Hamami has written in al-Nuhdat al-Islahiya. Also, a booklet is ascribed to Mulla ‘Ali Qari called Awwalat al- Mu’taqad Abi Hanifat al-Imam fi Abawi al-Rasul 'alaihis salam in which there are writings from which we must safeguard ourselves because those words are hurtful to the Prophet sallAllahu 'alaihi wasallam and to cause him pain is a major sin. Muhaddith ibn Abi al-Dunya and ibn Asakir narrate that Durra, the daughter of Abu Lahab, once passed by a man who saw her and said: This girl is the daughter of Abu Lahab, the enemy of Allah. Durra radiyAllahu 'anha replied: Indeed Allah has mentioned my father due to his esteemed lineage whereas He has not mentioned your father due to his ignorance. She then told the Prophet sallAllahu 'alaihi wasallam of this, so the Prophet sallAllahu 'alaihi wasallam delivered a sermon saying: Do not taunt a Muslim because of a Kafir. The meaning of this advice is that do not mention the disbelievers in a way that is hurtful to the Muslims and due to which they feel sorrow. A Muslim must always be respected so much so that even if his close relatives are disbelievers, they must not be talked of in a way that would hurt the Muslim and cause him anger.

Thus, this paper is classifying rape in the same category as Zina. By classifying rape as a subset of Zina can only sort out the juridical issues that are emanating from coerced Zina.

    limited the number of women a man could marry - the customary practice in pre-Islamic Arabia - and encouraged monogamy, allowed for God’s Messenger to marry several women in order for him to reach all his addressees in their entirety within as short a time as twenty-three years. The Messenger of God made use of this means in loosening such closely knit ties at a time when all the doors on which he knocked were slammed shut in his face. Moreover, it is not possible to suppose that the marriages of God’s Messenger, who stated, “God has assuredly willed that I marry only those who are of Paradise,”339 and who took his each and every step in line with the Divine injunctions, could be realized except by God's permission. Within this context, he states: “Each of my marriages and those of my daughters was conducted as a result of Divine permission conveyed to me through Gabriel.”340 In this way was he able to come together, on the basis of kinship, with those people who were not capable of being approached, and it was in these assemblies that the hearts of those who were consumed with hatred and enmity were softened. The marriages of God’s Messenger functioned as a bridge in his communication with them, and served to relax the atmosphere as well as legitimize his steps in their regard. He extended hospitality towards them, invited them to his wedding feasts using his marriages as a means to come together, and sent them gifts, drawing attention to their affinity.

Places to Visit: Makkah Madina Jeddah Taif Abwa Badr Uhud Arafat Mina Makkah al-Mukarramah 1. Masjid al-Haraam • The Holy Ka'aba. The House of Allah and the birth place of Imam Ali b. Abi Taalib [a] • Hajar al-Aswad (The Black Stone) • Maqam Ibrahim • Hijr Ismail. This was the location of the house of Prophet Ismael [a]. He and his mother are buried here. He denied access to anyone because he did not like it to be walked on. Other prophets are buried in this place also. According to Imam Baqir [a], the place between Rukn and Maqam is full of graves of the Prophets. According to Imam Sadiq [a], seventy prophets are buried between Rukn al-Aiman and Hajar al-Aswad • Well of Zamzam • Mizabe Rahmah: the golden trough (water channel) between Rukn Iraqi and Rukn Shami • Shadharwan • Mustajar: This is just before Rukn Yamani whilst walking from Rukn Shami to Rukn Yamani. It has also been defined as the area between the Black Stone (hajar al-aswad) and the door of the Ka'aba • Mutaawadh or Multazam: The place between Rukn Yamani and the Black Stone (hajar al-aswad) • Hatwim. According to the book "Adabul Haramain", this is the place between the door of the Ka'aba and Hajar al-Aswad.
