Glory Draws Wide in Poulains Esoterique Risk Pays Off Queen Anne for Animal Kingdom SATURDAY, MAY 11, 2013 732-747-8060 $ TDN Home Page Click Here GLORY DRAWS WIDE IN POULAINS QUEEN ANNE FOR ANIMAL KINGDOM Tomorrow=s G1 Poule d=Essai des Poulains has G1 Dubai World Cup and GI Kentucky hero Animal attracted a field of 18 and leading contender Olympic Kingdom (Leroidesanimaux {Brz}) has been confirmed Glory (Ire) (Choisir {Aus}) was not done any favors in for Royal Ascot=s G1 Queen Anne S. over a mile June stall 12 as he bids to add another mile Classic to 18. It will be the 5-year-old=s Richard Hannon=s resume. Last seen winning the final start before he stands G3 Greenham S. at Newbury Apr. the 2013 Southern 20, Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al Hemisphere breeding season Thani=s G1 Prix Jean-Luc Lagardere at Arrowfield Stud in winner will have to defy the statistics Australia. AWe had discussed to prevail, with only Lope de Vega the possibility of either the (Ire) (Shamardal) able to overcome a Queen Anne S. or the double-figure draw in recent times. G1 Prince of Wales=s S.,@ Like that high-class performer, Intello explained trainer Graham (Ger) (Galileo {Ire}) hails from the Motion. But after walking Animal Kingdom Liesl King Andre Fabre stable successful five A times and he will also break from the course, I feel the mile in wide out in 17. The Wertheimer the Queen Anne will afford our horse plenty of ground. Olympic Glory brothers unbeaten Listed Feilden S. We had only considered the other race because it is run Racing Post = scorer has only Apr. 14 G3 Prix de over the same mile-and-a-quarter distance as the Fontainebleau winner Gengis (Fr) (King=s Best) on his Kentucky Derby and World Cup.@ Motion continued, outside. The Wertheimers are also represented by AThe owners [Arrowfield Stud, Sheikh Mohammed bin Anodin (Ire) (Anabaa), a full-brother to Goldikova (Ire) Rashid al Maktoum and Team Valor International] prefer who will bid to go one better than his illustrious sibling a credential for the horse at a mile and I think the uphill after she was second to Zarkava (Ire) (Zamindar) in the nature of the Ascot course will be a stiff-enough test to Pouliches five years ago. While the owner-breeders= allow his stamina to come into play. The mile at Ascot Racing Manager Pierre-Yves Bureau was pleased with is closer to a mile-and-an-eighth race in America stall eight for Anodin, he was bemoaning the because of the layout and if Animal Kingdom were misfortune of Intello yesterday. "As you can imagine, racing in America at this time, we probably would be we would have preferred a lower draw for Intello but running him over that distance. The Queen Anne also that's the game and we have to deal with it,@ he told fits nicely into my training schedule for Animal Kingdom PA Sport. AIt could have been worse, so we will see since we freshened him up after his trip to Dubai.@ John what happens on Sunday. It=s hard to know what will Velazquez will ride Animal Kingdom in the Queen Anne. happen, but we would have preferred low draws for both of them. I think he had a nice run in Newmarket but the thing with both horses is that they have not been running against the top, top horses and this will be a big step up for them. Intello is dropping back in trip but I think there=s enough speed in his pedigree as his dam was a miler and his granddam was a sprinter, so that shouldn=t really be a problem. Anodin is a full-brother to the big girl and a half-brother to Galikova and he=s a nice horse. He ran a nice race last time, but it=s a big step from conditions company to Group 1 level. The ground should be fine for them and we will see how they go on Sunday.@ Field p3 ESOTERIQUE RISK PAYS OFF Baron Edouard de Rothschild=s decision to supplement his unbeaten filly Esoterique (Ire) (Danehill Dancer {Ire}) into Sunday=s G1 Poule d=Essai des Pouliches was rewarded with a slice of favorable fortune yesterday as she drew six for the mile Classic. Impressive when belying her inexperience in this venue=s G3 Prix Vanteaux over the Prix d=Ispahan distance of 9 1/4 furlongs Apr. 28, the Andre Fabre trainee will face 19 rivals as she drops in trip. JANUARY MIXED SALE Wednesday, January 16, 2019 - 12:00 Noon Fairplex - Pomona, CA © Mesaros Calif. Incentive Program_Cat 18_Page 1 CALIFORNIA’S INCENTIVE PROGRAM IT PAYS TO BREED AND OWN A CALIFORNIA-BRED In 2017, the breeders and owners of California-bred Thoroughbreds and the owners of California-based stallions received over $12M in premiums through the California Incentive Program. In addition, special racing opportunities afforded California-breds in 2017, provided more than $20M in purses for races restricted to California-breds. As a result of legislation recently amended in 2009, total monies available for incentive awards are distributed as follows: 10% to the California-bred race fund; 15% to the Maiden Bonus program: 20% bonus on the winner’s share to the owner of a California-bred Thoroughbred horse conceived by a registered eligible Thoroughbred stallion that finishes first in an open qualifying race, and a 10% bonus on the winner’s share to the owner of a California-bred Thoroughbred horse that finishes first in an open qualifying race that was not conceived by a registered eligible Thoroughbred stallion. The tracks are adding an additional 10% for Cal-bred winners of allowance races making the bonus 30%. A qualifying race is all non-claiming races excluding stakes with a purse of at least $15,000, as are open non maiden claiming races with a claiming price of $40,000 or greater in Southern California and $20,000 or greater in Northern California. After these deductions, 75% of the remainder to be paid as breeder awards, and 25% of the fund to be paid as stallion awards.
