Bu dönemde “Enoch’un Habeşçe Kitabı (Ethiopic Book of Enoch)”, “Jübileler Kitabı (The Book of Jubiles)”, “XII Patriark’ın Ahitleri (Testaments of XII Patriarks)” “Enoch’un Gizemler Kitabı (The Book of the Secrets of Enoch)”, “Süleyman’ın Mezmurları (The Book of Solomon)” ve “Sibyllinee Kehanetleri (Sibyllinee Book/Oracles)” gibi birçok kitap kaleme alınmıştır. “…elin günaha sokarsa onu kes at.” der. THE REPUBLIC OF NOVGOROD (‘ LORD NOVGOROD THE GREAT," Gospodin Velikii Novgorod, as it once called itself, is the starting-point of Russian history. It is also without a rival among the Russian city-states of the Middle Ages. Kiev and Moscow are greater in political importance, especially in the earliest and latest mediaeval times-before the Second Crusade and after the fall of Constantinople-but no Russian town of any age has the same individuality and self-sufficiency, the same sturdy republican independence, activity, and success. Who can stand against God and the Great Novgorod ?-Kto protiv Boga i Velikago Novgoroda .J-was the famous proverbial expression of this self-sufficiency and success. From the beginning of the Crusading Age to the fall of the Byzantine Empire Novgorod is unique among Russian cities, not only for its population, its commerce, and its citizen army (assuring it almost complete freedom from external domination even in the Mongol Age), but also as controlling an empire, or sphere of influence, extending over the far North from Lapland to the Urals and the Ob.

  • The Middle Oxfordian to Lowermost Kimmeridgian Ammonite
Volumina Jurassica, 2010, Viii: 5–48 The Middle Oxfordian to lowermost Kimmeridgian ammonite succession at Mikhalenino (Kostroma District) of the Russian Platform, and its stratigraphical and palaeobiogeographical importance Ewa GŁOWNIAK1, Dmitry N. KISELEV2, Mikhail ROGOV3, Andrzej WIERZBOWSKI1, John K. WRIGHT4 Key words: ammonites, biostratigraphy, Boreal zonation, Subboreal zonation, Submediterranean zonation, correlation, Oxfordian/ Kimmeridgian boundary. Abstract. The Mikhalenino section on the Russian Platform has yielded numerous ammonites from the Middle and Upper Oxfordian and lowermost Kimmeridgian, collected bed by bed. The ammonites belong mostly to the Boreal family Cardioceratidae, but also to the Sub- boreal family Aulacostephanidae; additionally at some levels there were collected various Submediterranean ammonites (Perisphinctidae, Oppeliidae and Aspidoceratidae). The co-occurrence of ammonites representative of different faunal provinces makes possible recognition of the Boreal, Subboreal, and partly also Submediterranean standard zonations. In consequence, it is possible to make a close correlation between these zonal schemes. The Oxfordian/Kimmeridgian boundary at the Pseudocordata/Baylei zonal boundary of the Subboreal zonal scheme corresponds precisely to the Rosenkrantzi/Bauhini zonal boundary. This boundary of the stages defined well faunistically in the Flodigarry section (Isle of Skye, Scotland) and proposed as a candidate for the uniform Oxfordian/Kimmeridgian boundary, can be also recognized in the Russian sec- tion studied. The boundary can be traced in the Mikhalenino section using the same criteria as used at Staffin: the appearance of the first representatives of Pictonia [M]–Prorasenia [m] (Subboreal), and the first appearance of Amoeboceras (Plasmatites) (Boreal). This indi- cates the large correlation potential of the boundary defined in this way. The research on the Mikhalenino section has provided the new palaeontological findings described in this study.

The chronostratigraphic ranges of the genus Riasanites and other ammonites of Tethyan origin in the Rjasanensis and Spasskensis zones apparently correspond to the interval from the Occitanica Zone to the Boissieri Zone (Paramimounum Subzone) of the Berriasian primary standard. The correlation of the basal Lower Cretaceous of the Russian Platform with synchronous beds of Poland, Mangyshlak, Northern Caucasus, Crimea, and direct correlation with the Occitanica Chronozone has promising prospects, making the base of this zone a preferred choice for the Juras- sic–Cretaceous boundary. The Central Russian ecotone, therefore, has considerable potential for the Boreal-Tethyan correlation. ABSTRACT This paper is concerned with the shallows of water reservoirs, which are located between the shore line and the deep water area. The intermediate loca tion of these shallows is the reason that their for mation, especially at large amplitude of water level oscillations, is a very complex process. At the same time the role of these shallows is subject to con siderable discussion in the relevant literature. Comprehensive investigations of water quality at present include not only the technological aspects of pollution control (waste treatment, water purifica tion, etc.), but also the relevant ecological problems which in turn are closely related to social problems and to the conditions of human life. This paper describes the role of reservoir shallows, taking into consideration the entire spec trum of the aqove mentioned aspects. Special stress is given to the filtering role of shallows; they act as natural filter~ protecting water in the reservoir against the nonpoint source pollutants of agricultural origin which are difficult to control. The degree to which the reservoir shallows can act as the "natural filters" depends on their structure, which in turn depends on the regime of water level oscillations in the reservoir.
