Taft Drive Closure During Infrastructure Work
The Department of Engineering announces that Taft Drive will be closed between Bunche Boulevard and Riddick Drive beginning at 7:30 a.m. on Tuesday, September 9th, through Wednesday, September 30th. This will be 24-hour closure during work for the Department of Public Utilities.

US 58 West Midtown Tunnel: Alternating lane closures on the US 58 West off-ramp from Hampton Blvd. to Brambleton Ave. on Wednesday, September 9; Thursday, September 10 and Friday, September 11 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
I-264 East: Left lane closure in the Downtown Tunnel eastbound on Tuesday, September 8; Wednesday, September 9 and Thursday, September 10 from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning.
I-264 West: Full closure at the I-264 West on-ramp from Effingham St. northbound to I- 264 West on Tuesday, September 8; Wednesday, September 9 and Thursday, September 10 from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning.

Elizabeth River Tunnels (Downtown/Midtown tunnels): Go to Elizabeth River Tunnels for maintenance schedules on the Downtown Tunnel (I-264), Midtown Tunnel (U.S. 58) and MLK Expressway (Route 164).
I-64 Widening Segment III Project, York County: Single-lane closure on I-64 east and west from Route 199 Lightfoot exit (exit 234) to Route 199/Humelsine Parkway (exit 242) on Sept. 8-10 starting as early as 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. A consecutive, long-term full ramp closure and diversion on the existing Route 199 west on-ramp to I-64 west in Lightfoot continues. Westbound traffic on Route 199 follow detour signage in place directing motorists to a new temporary median crossover to access the Route 199 east on-ramp to I-64 west during the closure. A consecutive, long-term lane closure under traffic signal control on Colonial Parkway at the I-64 overpass continues. A consecutive, long-term full ramp closure on Route 143 Merrimac Trail north to I-64 west continues. Traffic will follow detour signage in place directing motorists to the Route 143 south on-ramp to I-64 west during the closure.

Alternating, single-lane closures on I-64 in both directions between South Military Highway (exit 297) and Greenbrier Parkway (exit 289): Sept. 8-10 from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. Sept. 11 from 9 p.m. to 7 a.m. Sept. 12 from 8 p.m. to 9 a.m.
I-64, Chesapeake: Full closure of on-ramp from Route 17 (George Washington Highway) southbound to I-64 westbound on Sept. 11-12 from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.
I-64 / I-264 Interchange Improvements Project, Norfolk/Virginia Beach: Alternating, mobile closures on I-64 east at Indian River Road (exit 286) on Sept. 8-10 from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m. Alternating, multi-lane closures in both directions on I-264 between Newtown Road (exit 15) and Witchduck Road (exit 16) on Sept. 8-11 starting as early as 7 p.m., with more than two lanes closed no earlier than 9 p.m. Ongoing nightly closures and detours on Grayson Road at South Witchduck Road.
