Dear parishioners,

As we approach the celebration of the Sacred Triduum, I want to inform you of our plans to celebrate these sacred liturgies in a safe and healthy worship space, keeping in mind the best practices of social distancing. To this end, I decided to hold all our Triduum in-person liturgies at St. Mary this year. The church is our largest worship site, and is capable of accommodating the largest number of parishioners, given COVID restriction com‐ pliance. Our Holy Thursday evening Mass will celebrate the Mass of the Lord’s Supper but will not include the foot washing service. On Good Friday, the veneration of the cross must be made by either a bow or genuflection. Kissing or touching the cross is not permitted this year according to archdiocesan directives. The Easter Vigil will include the lighting of the new , but individual candles will not be handed to the congregation. On Good Friday, in addition to the evening liturgy and two times for the Stations of the Cross at St. Mary, the church at Sacred Heart and the chapel at St. Ann will be open from 9am to 3pm for your individual prayer. Easter Sunday Masses will be celebrated at the usual Sunday Mass times at all three of our worship sites ex‐ cept for the 6 Mass at Sacred Heart which traditionally is canceled on Easter Sunday. Due to the large amount of congregation participation necessary in the Liturgy of the Hours, Morning Prayer, Daytime Prayer and Night Prayer during the Triduum will be available only online this year. Please refer to our YouTube channel at divinemercyquincy or our website at divinemercyquincy.org for links to these short times of daily prayer. I hope that in spite of these modifications, many will be inspired to attend these events which encompass one liturgy over several days celebrating the central mystery of our faith —the Paschal Mystery. As in the past year, these liturgies will be recorded for later access on YouTube. May the peace of the Risen Christ be with you, especially during this continuing time of pandemic.
