Iran is home to about 10 million Kurds who mostly inhabit the mountainous Zagros region stretched from the northwest to the west of Iran, sharing borders with Kurdish people of Turkey, Iraq, Syria, making up the fourth-largest ethnic group of the Middle East. The Kurds of Iran live in the Kurdistan Province, Kermanshah Province, West Azerbaijan Province, Ilam Province, and Hamadan, and are known for their ancient history and rich culture, their Kurdish language, culinary, traditional music, and most importantly their dignity and pride.

Salaam! Welcome to Iran. Your tour will start from Tehran, the modern capital of Iran with a big number of residents. Tehran is both a modern city with sky scrappers and a city hiding the treasures of the Qajar and pahlavi Dynasties like the Golestan Palace, Saad Abad Palace and Niavaran Palace. Today you will arrive at IKA INTL Airport and you will be transferred to your hotel to get ready for the adventure. Considering the time, you can visit some attractions in Tehran, like the Golestan Palace or the National Museum of Iran.

This morning your adventure will start with a road trip to Hamedan ( 320 Kilometers). On the way you will visit the Alisadr Cave, the world's largest cave located 100 kilometers north of Hamadan, and then Lalejin a town with booming traditional pottery industry. Here you will visit a pottery workshop and try doing some pottery on poterry wheel. Then you'll arrive Hamedan and then check in to your hotel.

Today you will enjoy a Hamedan city tour. First in the morning we visit Ganj Nameh, and its two Achaemenid inscriptions related to Darius the Great and Xerxes the great. Then we visit the tomb of Esther o Mardkhai, which is known to be one of the most important tombs in the Jewish world. Then you will visit the Tomb of Aveccina, the great Iranian polymath.

Drive to Sanandaj (175 kilometers), the center of Kurdistan Province with the second biggest population of Kurdish people in the cities of Iran. In the afternoon, visit the traditional bazaar of Sanandaj dating back to Safavid times. Then head to Asef Mansion, which is the Anthropology Museum of Sanandaj and the House of Kurds and then visit the charming Khosro Abad mansion dating back to the Qajarid Dynasty. If you have free time you can also visit the Sanandaj Museum to get more familiar with the Kurdish history in Iran.

Uraman Takht is a village located in the heart of the Zagros mountains with more than 1000 years’ antiquity. This village is known for its magnificent stepped architecture and rich traditions and history. Drive to this scenic village in the morning (155 Kms) and enjoy a trekking tour through the alleys and meet the locals in the afternoon. Tonight’s accommodation will be at a cozy home stay with simple bedding. Here you will have the great experience of meeting a Kurdish family at their house and enjoying a traditional and memorable dinner with the family.

Drive to the next amazing Kurdish village named Palangan, which is only 110 kilometers from Uraman. Palangan is known for its unique architecture and tasty barbequed fish. Tonight’s accommodation will also be at a village home stay with simple rooms and the dinner will be served at the home stay.

Say goodbye to the village of Palangan and move to Kermanshah (124 km), the last Kurdish city you’ll visit in Iran and the center of the Kermanshah province. In the city, visit Moaven Ol Molk Tekiyeh, the traditional Bazaar of Kermanshah and the ancient Tagh e Bostan, the stonemade arch dating back to Sassanid Empire.

Wake up early in the morning and move to Bisetun (42 kilometers), which is a UNESCO world heritage site dating back to the Achaemenid Empire, and then drive back to hotel to check out of hotel and get transferred to the Airport for your flight back to Tehran. Check in to your hotel in Tehran and enjoy a city tour if you have enough time.
