Well read this and and you will know all about her. About Bethany Bethany Hamilton was born and raised in Hanalei Kauai, Hawaii on February 8, 1990, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital.
She has two brothers one named Noah and the other named Timmy, her mom and dad’s names are Cherilyn and Thomas
and finally two dogs names Ginger, and Hanalei (Hana). Bethany learned to surf between the ages of two and five years
old, with her parents. When she and she said she wears was eight Bethany entered her first competition in Oahu, Hawaii.
Some FAQs on her website ask if she was a righty or a lefty and she said righty. Someone else asked what shoe size she
wears an 8 ½. Bethany said her inspiration was Jesus Christ. Bethany also says that her home is the ocean. Her first major
sponsors were Rip Curl and Tim Carroll’s Surfboards.
Shark Attack
On October 31, 2003 Bethany went out surfing with her best friend Alana Blanchard. When Bethany was just
sitting on her board just waiting for a wave all of a sudden a 15 foot tiger shark came up and bit her left arm off. Beth-
any and her friend called 911 as soon as they back on land. Bethany was rushed to the hospital all she had left was her
left shoulder and 60% if her blood was gone out into the ocean. After a long time in recovery Bethany never gave up She
returned back on the board in November 26, 2003. When she tried to surf she got up on the third wave. Bethany says
that the hardest thing to do was to stand up on the board. When Bethany got bitten she was just 13 years old.
Awards and Appearances Today
Today Bethany has one many awards like the Honolulu Citizen Award. She has appeared on NBC Today and Good Morn-
ing America. She got picked for the Teen Choice Awards and has been to Hershey Park with an event
group. Bethany also has been on the Ellen DeGeneres Show and ABCs Extreme Makeover Home Edition.
She has been in American Girl Magazine and many more like the New York Times and USA Today.
Why Bethany is Important
Bethany Hamilton is important because she is an inspiration to many people. She is wonderful at what she
does .People think she is really brave for getting back on the board three weeks after her attack. People

Who was the greatest baseball player of all time? Babe Ruth was. He many
accomplishments and made many records through out his life time.
George Herman Ruth was born on February 6, 1895. He was one out of eight children born by

While he was there he learned to y/celebs/images2/ play baseball. At age 15 he showed great skill at baseball. Since George wasn’t old enough to sign the contract, Jack Dunn signed the contract as George’s guardian. Everyone
started calling him “Dunn’s little babe,” and the name stuck. Now people were calling George, “Babe” Ruth. Babe played for
the Baltimore orioles for a short while then moved up to the major league baseball team known as the Boston Red Socks. Due
to financial problems, Harry Frazee (coach of the Boston Red Socks) sold Babe to the New York Yankees. Once he was on the
Yankees, Babe switched positions from starting pitcher to full-time right fielder. There he proved to be a valuable player. Babe’s
last game was on May 25, 1935. He officially retired a week later. His MLB (Major League Baseball) career lasted from 1914 to
1935.
Through out his years as a major league baseball player, Babe accomplished many things. He was one of the first five
players to be in the baseball hall of fame. He wasn’t just a great outfielder; he was also an extraordinary hitter. He hit 60 home
runs in one season! Babe was ranked as number one on the list of 100 greatest players. His batting average was .315 in his first
season. Babe’s first homerun in
Major League Baseball was hit off of Jack Warhop in 1915. These are just some of the amazing accomplishments of Babe Ruth.
Babe Ruth had many accomplishments in his life. He was an extraordinary baseball player and he will never be
forgotten.

Do you like surfing? Bethany Hamilton Is a great surfer. Bethany Hamilton was born February 8 1990. People say that she has salt water in her veins. She was born in Kauai Hawaii. Bethany first learned to surf at age three and has been surfing ever since.
Bethany got attacked at age 13 by a 15 foot tiger shark on Halloween day. She was lying on her board talking to her friend with her left arm in the water and her right arm on the nose of the board. She lost her left arm and 60% of her blood.
A few weeks after the attack Bethany decided to get back in the water the day before Thanksgiving. That would be terrifying! She got up on her 3rd wave. Tears of joy filled her eyes as she celebrated with her family.
Now she is one of the top female surfers in the world. Bethany has also won an award for the best comeback athlete. Now Bethany is an inspiration to many people.
