• Have you purchased a yearbook? October 31st is the last day to purchase a yearbook at the $65.00 price. Yearbooks will go on sale again on January 3, 2018, but the price will go up to $70.00 each. Payment may be made online through Parent Access using a credit/debit card, or with cash or check at the Bookkeeper’s office.

• 1st semester class fees, District Athletic waivers, field trip fee and Cambridge Fall testing fees have been added to the Student Ac- counts. Please check the updated Fine List posted by the Bookkeeper’s window. Lists will be by grade level and student ID number. All fees and fines must be paid in order to be cleared for a winter sport, obtain an off campus pass or a parking permit. Payments may be made online through Parent Access using credit/debit card, or with cash or check at the Bookkeeper’s office. CAREER CENTER & COUNSELING:

• Seniors—do you need help filling out FAFSA? Cascadia College is offering free drop-in assistance on Saturday, November 4th, between 10am-noon. Stop by the CRC for a flyer.

• This week is a busy week for college visits. Monday, the 23rd, Hawaii Pacific will be here during 3rd period and Middlebury come in at 12:35. Tuesday we have visits from Chapman at 8:45 followed by the University of Oregon at 1:30. Wednesday University of Utah will be here during third period and University of San Francisco at 10:55. Whitworth wraps up the busy week on Thursday at 12:50. Sign ups for these visits are now available in the CRC.

• JHS College Fair: Students! Mark your calendars for our annual college fair on November 8th. From 6 to 8 pm you will have the opportuni- ty to speak with over 20 colleges to find out more about the schools and how to be a competitive applicant. Seniors, get your last-minute admission questions answered before you submit your college applications. Most of the schools from Washington state will be there as well as other schools from the west coast. Don't miss this event! • Planning on attending WSU next year? If you would like to apply for their Regence Scholarship opportunity stop by the CRC and see Mr. Navalinski for more information. CLUBS:

• Adventure Club meets during all-school lunch on Wednesdays in Room 166 (the Japanese room).

• Creative Writing Club meets every Wednesday after school in room 146.

• DECA meeting Wednesday at 12:30pm—room 163. Competition decision paperwork DUE to Ms. Harris by Friday.

• Feminism Club meeting in P5B, Ms. Hansen’s room

• Interact Club meets during “Homeroom Club Time” in the cafeteria

• The Kitchen is looking for Student Helpers—if interested please come down and talk to Dede Rux, Kitchen Manager. Students just work 10 min and they get a earned free lunch! • Kirkland Boys and Girls Club is looking for officials for basketball, volleyball as well as flag football. Games are Tues. Thurs. and Sat. Pay is $15.00 per hour. This is your chance to learn a new still and make some money!! Flyers with more information are now available in the CRC . • Kiddie Academy of Kirkland is looking for a part time kitchen helper. Hours would be approximately 3pm until 6:30 from Monday until Friday. You would help organize the kitchen, dispense and dispose of snacks, keep kitchen clean and clean/stock the kitchen. • Lyon Ski & Snowboard School is now hiring ski and snowboard instructors. MUST BE AT LEAST 14 YEARS OF AGE. Stop by the CRC for a flyer if you are interested MISC: • CHILD DEVELOPMENT Will Now Be Offered!! The previously canceled class of Child Development level 1 and 2 will be happening and running this second semester period 3 taught by Ms. Menino. If you are interested, please visit the counseling department and sign-up on the Child Development sheet located by Mrs. McGuire’s desk. I hope to see you in the spring!! • The Card Printer for ID/ASB cards is up and running! If you have misplaced your card you may purchase a new one for $5 from Mrs. Grager in the Bookkeepers office and bring the receipt to Mrs. Hamilton in Attendance to have a new card printed. If you purchased ASB after getting your card and have a sticker on it now you will need to bring that to Mrs. Hamilton to have a new card printed, there is no charge for this you will just trade the cards. • Fear Free Practice SAT & ACT tests Click here to be taken to the PTSA website for more info.

• In order to have maintain our wonderful, respectful culture for learning, students are asked to refrain from eating lunch in the hallways. The exception is the hallway right in front of the counseling office, but please re- member that there is a class right there. Starting next Monday, October nd2 , students who wish to experience a quiet lunch away from the commons may choose to use the following classrooms: A lunch: Room 176 (Williamson) B lunch: Room 110 (Campos) Of course you will pick up after yourselves. • IT'S BACK! SPORTS:

• Registration for Winter Sports will begin on October 10th. Our sports for the winter are: Boys and Girls Basketball, Gymnastics (Girls), Swim & Dive (Boys) and Wrestling (Boys and Girls). Click here for the Winter Sports Information Packet. • Basketball - open gym shoot around Tuesdays and Thursdays- 7:15 to 9:00 pm . This is open to ALL Juanita HS students. Other activities offered as well. Come join the fun. • Weight training/conditioning open to all JHS students . Lead by coach Dan Davis - Tuesdays and Thurs- days at 4:00. VOLUNTEERS: If anyone is interested in tutoring during ACT, sign-ups are available on the Honor Society bulletin board.
