KEYNOTE SPEAKER ´11 Hon. Ms. Hanna Tetteh | Minister of Trade and Industry, Ghana

Hon. Ms. Hanna Tetteh is Ghana’s Minister for Trade & Industry. The Ministry is responsible for matters relating to Trade, Industry and the promotion of the Private Sector. She is a member of Cabinet, the Chairperson of the Ghana Free Zones Board, a Member of the Economic Management Team, and serves on the National Development Planning Commission, and is on the board of the Millennium Development Authority, and the Divestiture Implementation Committee among others. The Minister has a wide area of responsibility, as the Ministry of Trade & Industry exercises oversight responsibility for several departments and agencies. He joined the National Petroleum Authority (NPA) in April 2009 after over 20 years’ experience in leadership positions in several organizations as well as the downstream petroleum industry and the banking and financial sectors with multinational banking corporations in the USA and Accra, and nearly a decade of experience in the petroleum downstream sector with focus on Refining, Crude Oil and Petroleum Products Supply & Trading and Risk Management. Alex was the Executive Director and Co-Head Wholesale Bank, Origination and Client Coverage, Ghana where he was responsible the corporate business. In 2001 Alex returned to Ghana and was responsible for developing structured trade/export finance business in West Africa.

Dante Mossi | Acting Country Manager The World Bank, Ghana

A Honduran national, he graduated from Electrical Engineering in Honduras, and with a US scholarship, completed his Master’s degree in Economics at Duke University and his PhD in Economics at Vanderbilt University. He has worked for the Government of Honduras as a regulator as the Secretary of the Telecommunications Regulatory Entity, that was in charge of the market opening in Honduras for telecommunications. He also worked as a Senior Economist for the Secretary of the Presidency and later on as the Secretary of the Economic Cabinet. He entered to work at the World Bank as a Country Economist in Honduras in 2003; His responsibilities are to coordinate the portfolio management of the operations in Ghana that amount to about $2 billion.

From a childhood of poverty to the Academic All American Hall of Fame, then on to a successful career as an attorney, Her personal story sheds light on the kind of leadership, commitment, and teamwork she brings to Houston's City Council. Jones graduated from the University of Houston, where she was nominated for the Rhodes Scholarship, and earned an unprece- dented three NCAA heptathlon championships and the title of Greatest Female Athlete of the Century. She graduated magna cum laude with a degree in political science, and later went on to earn her J.D. from the University of Houston Law Center. A 1982 graduate of Mechanical Engineering (First Class) from the University of Lagos also holds a Master’s degree in Mechanical/Production Engineering. He joined Chevron in October 1984 as a Petroleum Engineer. With over 24 years’ experience in Chevron Nigeria Limited, he has held several positions of increasing responsibilities in the Company. He became registered as a Chartered Engineer in the United Kingdom in 1990. He is on the board of several of Chevron Nigeria companies as Executive Director. He is recognized with many distinguis- hed awards. As General Manager, Policy, Government and Public Affairs Department in the Nigeria/Mid Africa Strategic Business Unit of Chevron, he is responsible for all aspects of building and sustaining Chevron’s reputation, this includes the formulation of community engagement, communications and public relations policies and strategies that support Chevron’s Joint Venture, Deep-water and Gas development operations. He is also an ordained pastor at The Fountain of Life Church, Ilupeju, Lagos. He is married to Tosin Odumabo, a pharmacist and an entrepreneur. They are blessed with good children.

Prior to working with Nigeria LNG, Siene had become a household name in Nigeria having been a network news anchor from the mid 70’s to the mid 90’s. Siene is a trained lawyer, called to the Nigerian Bar in 1985. She obtained a law degree from Middlesex University, London. Her broadcasting career began with the then Nigerian Broadcasting Corporation, NBC. She moved from radio to what was then NBC-TV, now the Nigerian Television Authority, NTA rising to the position of News Controller before her appointment as General Manager, Rivers State Television in 1994. She had a stint at private law practice in 1996 before joining Nigeria LNG Limited in 2000 where she is company image maker and spokesperson.
