CATALYZING COLLABORATION FOR EFFECTIVE SOCIAL CHANGE & IMPACT KEYNOTE SPEAKER ´11 Hon. Ms. Hanna Tetteh | Minister of Trade and Industry, Ghana Hon. Ms. Hanna Tetteh is Ghana’s Minister for Trade & Industry. The Ministry is responsible for matters relating to Trade, Industry and the promotion of the Private Sector. She is a member of Cabinet, the Chairperson of the Ghana Free Zones Board, a Member of the Economic Management Team, and serves on the National Development Planning Commission, and is on the board of the Millennium Development Authority, and the Divestiture Implementation Committee among others. The Minister has a wide area of responsibility, as the Ministry of Trade & Industry exercises oversight responsibility for several departments and agencies. Namely the Ghana Free Zones Board, the Export Development and Investment Fund (EDIF), the Ghana Export Promotion Council, the Ghana Standards Board, the National Board for Small Scale Industries (NBSSI), Ghana National Procurement Agency, the Ghana Trade Fair Company, GIHOC Distilleries Ltd, Ghana Heavy Equipment Ltd., the Central Regional Development Commission (CEDECOM), the Rural Enterprises Project, and the GRATIS Foundation. Hon. Hanna Tetteh is a Lawyer by Profession. She is an old student of Wesley Girls High School, Cape Coast, the University of Ghana – Legon, and the Ghana Law School. She was called to the Ghana Bar in October 1992. She is a seasoned legal practitioner with valuable experience in both private legal practice and as a corporate counsel. KEYNOTE PANEL Alex Kofi-Mensah Mould | CEO National Petroleum Authority (NPA) Ghana He joined the National Petroleum Authority (NPA) in April 2009 after over 20 years’ experience in leadership positions in several organizations as well as the downstream petroleum industry and the banking and financial sectors with multinational banking corporations in the USA and Accra, and nearly a decade of experience in the petroleum downstream sector with focus on Refining, Crude Oil and Petroleum Products Supply & Trading and Risk Management. Alex was the Executive Director and Co-Head Wholesale Bank, Origination and Client Coverage, Ghana where he was responsible the corporate business. In 2001 Alex returned to Ghana and was responsible for developing structured trade/export finance business in West Africa. Dante Mossi | Acting Country Manager The World Bank, Ghana A Honduran national, he graduated from Electrical Engineering in Honduras, and with a US scholarship, completed his Master’s degree in Economics at Duke University and his PhD in Economics at Vanderbilt University. He has worked for the Government of Honduras as a regulator as the Secretary of the Telecommunications Regulatory Entity, that was in charge of the market opening in Honduras for telecommunications. He also worked as a Senior Economist for the Secretary of the Presidency and later on as the Secretary of the Economic Cabinet. He entered to work at the World Bank as a Country Economist in Honduras in 2003; His responsibilities are to coordinate the portfolio management of the operations in Ghana that amount to about $2 billion. Hon. Jolanda Jones | Chair, International Business Initiatives & Council Member, Houston Texas, USA From a childhood of poverty to the Academic All American Hall of Fame, then on to a successful career as an attorney, Her personal story sheds light on the kind of leadership, commitment, and teamwork she brings to Houston's City Council. Jones graduated from the University of Houston, where she was nominated for the Rhodes Scholarship, and earned an unprece- dented three NCAA heptathlon championships and the title of Greatest Female Athlete of the Century. She graduated magna cum laude with a degree in political science, and later went on to earn her J.D. from the University of Houston Law Center. In 1984, 1988, and1996, she qualified for the U.S. Olympic Trials. Edward Effah | MD/CEO, Fidelity Bank, Ghana Edward established The Fidelity Group in October 1998 after a successful career as a senior finance executive. Fidelity is a financial services group. Fidelity Bank was adjudged the best growing bank in Ghana in 2007 by Corporate Initiative Ghana. Under Edward’s leadership Fidelity has been able to establish itself as a leader in its markets in Ghana in terms of reputation, profitability and assets Edward is a Chartered Accountant by profession and is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales. In March 2001, Edward was selected as one of the best twenty young leaders in Ghana for the inaugural class of the Ghana chapter of the Africa Leadership Initiative, modeled after the Aspen Institute’s highly successful Henry Crown Fellowship Program. He joined Chevron in October 1984 as a Petroleum Engineer. With over 24 years’ experience in Chevron Nigeria Limited, he has held several positions of increasing
