Forecast and R&D • 181.1 TWh – forecasted net electricity demand in Poland in 2030, • PLN 25 m – total cost incurred by PSE in 2017-2019 for R&D projects, of which PLN 7.2 m was earmarked for research and PLN 17.8 m for development work. Capacity Market and Balancing Markets data • 8,671.154 MW ─ capacity obligation volume resulting from 103 capacity agreements concluded, for the delivery year 2024 under the main auction in the Polish Capacity Market in 2019, • 100 percent – failure-free operation of the Balancing Market – 100 percent, • 129 participants of the Balancing Market in 2019. NATURAL ENVIRONMENT AREA • PLN 0 (zero) – monetary value of fines and total number of non-monetary sanctions for non- compliance with environmental laws and regulations in 2019, • 86,375 GJ – total electricity and heat consumption in the organisation in 2019 (decrease by 10.55 percent YoY), • 1.476 TWh – electricity transmission losses in 2019 (decrease by 8.1 percent YoY). In addition, mainly owing to the decrease in electricity transmission losses, reduction of greenhouse gas emissions was also recorded. Jahrhunderts weder statistische Aufstellungen noch ein zusammenhängendes offizielles Aktenkorpus, wie es für Frankreich etwa in den Archiven des Zentralkonsistoriums vorliegt; die For- schungslage stellt sich als ein fragmentarisches Mosaik von Lokalgeschichten dar. Es braucht nun nicht eigens betont zu werden, daß in Ermangelung einer auch nur ungefähren Vorstellung von Anzahl, geo- graphischer Verteilung und Rechtstatus der Rabbinate das historische Wissen schwerlich über isolierte Detailkenntnisse hinausgelangen kann. We, former concentration camp prisoners and eyewitnesses of the Shoah, have devoted all our lives to the mission of keeping the memory of the Holocaust alive. Today, as our mission is coming to an end, we understand better than anyone else that our whole work and toil might be in vain if we do not succeed in bequeathing the material evidence of this terrible crime to future generations. The Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp remains the most important of these testimonies: once a place of suffering and death for hundreds of thousands of Jews, Poles, Roma, Sinti and people from all over Europe, today it is a memorial site visited by millions of people from around the world. Thanks to this, the authenticity of this place will endure to testify about the fate of those who can no longer tell their own story.

    Original Article Pol J Public Health 2016;126(2): 59-62 Małgorzata Winiarska, Dariusz Matosiuk Knowledge of women living in Otwock county about breast cancer Abstract Breast cancer is one of the most common types of cancer in women. In 2012 alone, some 17000 women developed breast cancer and the condition accounted for 5574 deaths. Breast tumor poses a huge threat for women aged 46-65 (working age) and other age groups are at an only slightly lower risk. An early diagnosis of breast cancer would increase chances of survival, which means that it is essential to educate women about breast tumors, risk factors, symptoms and diagnosis. The authors of this work aimed at assessing the knowledge of women residents of Otwock County about breast tumors. The study included a questionnaire including 31 questions, containing queries looking at women’s knowledge of breast tumors and it was distributed to residents of Otwock County between September and October 2014. An analysis of the questionnaire responses suggests what follows: (i) women of all ages are not knowledgeable enough about cancer; (ii) medical professionals, like general practitioners, gynecologists, pharmacists and even nurses should encourage wom- en to learn more about tumors, (iii) women still do not know how to perform breast self-exams, (iv) women are aware of the fact that routine checkups are essential but they do not have them and also mistake the names of preventive programs for names of institutions and organizations that deal with fighting cancer, (v) women still do not know that mammogram tests are free of charge and in order to have them done, they do not need to have a referral.
