Annual Report 2014 CHAIRMAN’S STATEMENT Dear shareholders, In 2014, with the gradual progress in the integration of the industry, gradual implementation of the “one belt and one road” strategy, introduction of a mixed ownership mechanism on a pilot basis and reform and development of central and local state- owned enterprises, the Chinese capital market entered a new stage of accelerated reform and innovation. The Company seized the opportunity and achieved better operating performance under the collective efforts of all employees of the Company. Total revenue and other income was RMB13.017 billion. The net profits attributable to shareholders of the Company was RMB3.771 billion, an increase of 54.48% and 76.59%, respectively, compared to that in 2013, the weighted average return on net assets was 13.91%. During this year, the Board of the Company completed the interim evaluation of the implementation of strategy and formulated the three-year capital planning. The application for A Shares IPO was officially accepted by CSRC. Meanwhile, market-oriented reform made progress. The systems of risk management and internal control were improved. The Company newly obtained, among others, the qualification for pilot Internet securities business, qualification for securities investment fund custody, qualification for market making business of the nationwide shares transfer system and authorization for Hong Kong Stock Connect business transaction. The scope of business was further expanded. Looking ahead to 2015, the Chinese securities market is facing reshuffle and reform. It will be the prime time for development of the securities industry with strategic opportunities, which will lead to the emergence of a group of internationally competitive investment banks with brand influence and significance in the system. We must face competition, carry out reforms, seize the opportunities and make development as the first priority. The Company will maintain the focus on making progress and achieving new developments. The Company will grasp the opportunities with strong commitment to its reform and progress, pushing forward the successful follow-on offering of H Shares and the listing of A Shares through various channels. Meanwhile, external expansion will continue to be promoted through merger and acquisition and business integration. Internally, the Company will make innovative developments. Market-oriented reform will be further promoted and the governance mechanism will be continuously optimized. Talents for transformation will be recruited and nurtured, effectively strengthening our core competitiveness and improving the efficiency and degree of capital operation.     For Immediate Release C C Land Partners with New World China Land Limited to Jointly Develop a Luxury Hotel and Serviced Apartment Project in Yubei District, Chongqing *** *** A Crown Jewel in Chongqing (28 June 2009 – Hong Kong) C C Land Holdings Limited (“C C Land” or the “Company”, together with its subsidiaries collectively known as the “Group”; stock code: 1224) is pleased to announce the partnership with New World China Land Limited (“New World”), a leading property developer in China, in jointly developing a luxury hotel and serviced apartment project (“the Project”) on Land Lot No. 10 of the Yubei District, Chongqing. New World ’s participation speaks volume for the quality of the land site. It will also contribute international experience and expertise in developing the Project into a crown jewel in Chongqing. Under the agreement, New World will acquire a 20% interest in the Project from C C Land for a consideration of around RMB51.6 million, equivalent to a gross floor area (GFA) value of RMB3,200 per sqm. The Project has an aggregate GFA of approximately 80,661 sqm, comprising a five-star luxury hotel, premier serviced apartment and more than 500 parking spaces. It is part of the Land Lot No. 10 development in the Group’s main land bank in the Yubei District which houses a high end residential project, SOHO, retail, office, hotel and serviced apartment, and the Project will take up about 20% of the total GFA permitted (about 400,000 sqm) in Lot No. 10. C C Land and New World will invest proportionately in the Project which is scheduled to be completed by the Year 2012.

In 2003, the Chinese government began a series of new national health insurance reforms, including the New Cooperative Medical Scheme (NCMS) and the Urban Resident Basic Health Insurance scheme (URBMI). These two programs, combined with the previously existing Urban Employee Basic Health Insurance (UEBMI) program, aimed to make it easier for individuals to receive medical treatment. This study reports cataract surgery numbers in rural and urban populations and the proportion of these who had health insurance in Chongqing, China from 2003 to 2008. Methods: The medical records of a consecutive case series, including 14,700 eyes of 13,262 patients who underwent age-related cataract surgery in eight hospitals in Chongqing from January 1, 2003, to December 31, 2008, were analysed retrospectively via multi-stage cluster sampling. Results: In the past six years, the total number of cataract surgeries had increased each year as had the number of patients with insurance. Both the number of surgeries and the number of insured patients were much higher in the urban group than in the rural group. The rate of increase in the rural group however was much higher than in the urban group, especially in 2007 and 2008.

Chongqing is situated in the east of southwest China, about 2,500km up the Yangtze River from Shanghai. Under its jurisdiction there are 40 districts, cities and counties. It covers an area of 82,000 square kilometres with a total population of 31 million. An estimated 6 million people live in urban Chongqing city. Downtown Chongqing lies at the point where the Yangtze River and the Jialing River merge. Known as the Mountain City, the whole city is built against a backdrop of hills and rivers, characterized by zig-zagging roads and overlapping houses. It is also known as one of the four Furnace Cities for its hot summers and the Foggy City for its misty winters.
