Området er i detaljreguleringsplan vedtatt 14. februar 2018 regulert til steinbrudd og masseuttak (Plan-ID 20181063). Videre er område lokalisert innenfor reinbeitedistrikt 21 Røssåga/Toven. Forekomsten som skal utvinnes består av granitt. Granitten er egnet til blokkproduksjon som kan benyttes som blokker til steinmurer, tunellåpninger ol. Bergarten er også egnet til bruk som tilslag i betong og den kan benyttes som fyllmasse. -

A Rb-Sr age study from the Mosjøen unit, Helgeland Nappe Complex, and its bearing on the timing of tectonometamorphic events within the Uppermost Allochthon, Central Scandinavian Caledonides, Norway B. O. & Mickelson, M.: A Rb-Sr age study from the Mosjøen unit, Helgeland Nappe Complex and its bearing on the timing of tectonometamorphic events within the Uppermost Al lochthon, CentralScandinavian Caledonides, Norway.Norsk Geologisk Tidsskrift, Vol. 66, pp. 263- 270. Oslo 1986. ISSN 0029-196X. The Mosjøen unit within the Helgeland Nappe Complex is made up of a polydeformed supracrustal sequence consisting mainly of greenschists, greenstones and layers of calcite and dolomite marbles, which have been intruded by large masses of igneous rocks ranging in composition from gabbroic to granitic. The main structural elements and the metamorphic maximum are related to the 02- deformation. The Mosjøen gabbro, yielding an igneous Rb-Sr mineral isochron age of 420 ± 8 m.y. (10 = .70412 ± .00003), was emplaced during the 02 event. A 433 ± 11 m.y. total rock Rb-Sr isochron was obtained for a granitic dyke crosscutting the 02 structures. The geochronological data are inter preted to indicate a Silurian age for the main tectonometamorphic event (02) in the Mosjøen unit. Previous geochronological studies from other parts of the Uppermost AUochthon demonstrate strong early Caledonian (late Cambrian to early Ordovician) metamorphism and deformation prior to Sil urian deformation. The present tectonostratigraphic sequence within the Uppermost Allochthon was established during the main Caledonian thrusting event in the late Silurian to early Oevonian. B. O. Tørudbakken & M. -

The Norwegian Millstone Landscape Millstones Are Among the Most Widespread and Abundant Artifacts from the Past
The Norwegian Millstone Landscape Millstones are among the most widespread and abundant artifacts from the past. They can be seen at farms, in gardens, in dry-stone walls and along streams long after the mill itself has disappeared. We intuitively know that there are many stories behind these well-crafted objects that have been so central in mankind’s history; however, most of these stories are lost. Particularly this applies to the ‘life’ of the millstone before it was put to use: the history of extensive quarry landscapes, craftsmanship, quality measures, millstone trade – aspects that collectively form a rich cultural landscape. This project seeks to shed new light on the physical and historical aspects of these multi- faceted landscapes through comprehensive surveys and interdisciplinary research. 1. Relevance to the call The Norwegian Millstone Landscape focuses on the historical narrative of quarrying, processing and trade of specific stone resources crucial to the production of the most fundamental food, flour. The shaping of extensive cultural landscapes by millstone quarrying provides a rich historical re- cord of the social, economic and political processes that surrounded food production for over 1500 years. Moreover, the consumption of millstones at local, regional and international scales represents conduits in the evolution of trade and social networks that grew around the millstone quarrying in- dustry, and that define an ‘extended millstone landscape’. Today, the socio-cultural and economic values of these millstone landscapes are at best greatly underestimated or, at worst, completely un- known. Undertaken by an interdisciplinary research team comprising the disciplines of geology, archaeology, history and landscape geography, this project addresses the proposal call by develop- ing methods for characterisation and reconstruction of the Norwegian millstone landscapes as a narrative that links the past with the present in a common heritage. -

SOMMERFELTIA is named in honour of the eminent Norwegian botanist and clergyman S0ren Christian Sommerfelt (1794-1838). The generic name Sommerfeltia has been used in (1) the lichens by Florke 1827, now Solorina, (2) Fabaceae by Schumacher 1827, now Drepanocarpus, and (3) Asteraceae by Lessing 1832, nom. cons. SOMMERFELTIA is a series of monographs in plant taxonomy, phytogeography, phyto sociology, plant ecology, plant morphology, and evolutionary botany. Most papers are by Norwegian authors. Forord Helgeland Historielag har sett det som ei oppgåve å gi ut eit oversyn over lokalhistorisk litteratur som har tilknytning til Helgeland. I det heftet vi no presenterer, har vi valt å avgrense tidsrommet til 1970-1994. Å lage eit fullstendig oversyn over alt som har komme ut, er uråd. Men vi trur vi har fått med det meste, og vonar at oversynet vil bli til hjelp for alle som er interesserte i lokalhistorie. Vi vil tru at også biblioteka og skolane vil ha nytte av heftet. Under arbeidet med heftet er opplysningane henta inn frå mange ulike hald, og i nokre tilfelle kan opplysningane vere ufullstendige. Slikt vil vi gjerne ha greie på, og vi vil også ha tips om publikasjonar som eventuelt ikkje er komne med i oversynet. Ansvarleg for heftet har adressa Snevn. 23, 8650 Mosjøen. Publikasjonane er ordna etter kommune. Ein del titlar gjeld større område. Dei er enten tatt med til slutt under "Helgeland", eller dei er ført opp under fleire kommunar. Merk elles at omgrepet "forfattar" er bruka noko vidare enn i vanleg bibliotekssamanheng. Det er gjort slik fordi det elles ikkje ville ha komme fram kven som står bak arbeidet med boka/heftet.
