Zeitlinie) der Cyberpunk-Serie ist durch viele verschiedene Versionen gegangen, mit neuen Sourcebooks und Spielen, welche die Welt erweitert und verändert haben. Dieser Artikel behandelt die kanonische Zeitlinie der Ereignisse in Cyberpunk 2013, 2020, Red und 2077 wie sie von Mike Pondsmith und/oder CD Projekt RED etabliert wurden. Da dass Videospiel Cyberpunk 2077 noch erscheint, ist bisher ungewiss, ob die Ereignisse für einen besseren Spielfluss nicht abgeändert oder entfernt wurden. Die Zeitlinie und wichtigsten Ereignisse des Cyberpunk-Universums 1 Die Geschichte der Cyberpunk-Serie Das erste Cyberpunk-Spiel, das 1988 erschienene Cyberpunk 2013 macht den Spieler mit der Welt der dunklen Zukunft erstmals bekannt. Es wurden drei Ergänzungen veröffentlicht, welche die Welt und Charakterrollen weiter ausarbeiteten. 1990 erschien eine zweite Ausgabe mit dem Titel Cyberpunk 2020, mit welcher die Zeitlinie um 7 Jahre bis 2020 fortgeführt wurde. Im Ergebnis wurde der Inhalt von 2013 vergrößert, der Handlungsort Night City wurde real und viele der Unternehmen erhielten komplette Hintergrundgeschichten. 1993 wurde mit CyberGenerations die Zeitlinie erneut um weitere 7 Jahre vorangetrieben. CyberGeneration konzentriert sich auf übernatürliche Fähigkeiten in einer gefährlicheren Welt. Später wurde CyberGeneration zu einem Ableger in einer alternativen Realität. 1997 wurden die Firestorm (Feuersturm) Bücher veröffentlicht. Diese beiden (ursprünglich 3) Abenteuerbücher sollten den Spieler in das Konzept/Szenario des 4. Corporate War (Unternehmenskrieg) einführen und die Handlung in die späten 2020er bis 30er Jahre fortführen. Die Kampagne führt den Spieler in den Kampf gegen Arasaka, allerdings mit der Hilfe durch viele der durch die Serie bekannten Charaktere wie Morgan Blackhand und Johnny Silverhand (Rogue und Spider Murphy waren mit von der Partie). Ein drittes Firestorm Buch war geplant, wurde dann aber zum Teil des Cyberpunk V3.0 Regelbuchs. Im Jahre 2005 wurde Cyberpunk V3.0 veröffentlicht. Die Zeitlinie wurde bis in die 2030er vorangetrieben und eine direkte Fortsetzung der Firestorm Bücher. In 3.0 musste die Welt mit den Folgen des 4. Corporate Wars und der Arasaka Atombombe in Night City, sowie der Datenkorruption im Netz, zurecht kommen. Die Rezensionen fielen wegen der Veränderungen im Setting und der Art und Weise wie das Buch seine Inhalte präsentierte, relativ negativ aus. 2013 verkündete der polnische Videospiel-Entwickler CD Projekt RED, dass er die Rechte zur Entwicklung eines auf der Cyberpunk-Serie basierenden Videospiels erworben hatte, und dass deren Schöpfer Mike Pondsmith eng mit dem polnischen Studio zusammenarbeiten werde. Cyberpunk 2077 wird die Zeitlinie sehr weit bis ins Jahr 2077 vorantreiben. Das Spiel, bei dem der Spieler die Rolle von Protagonist V (einem gewöhnlichen Cyberpunk in Night City) einnehmen, wurde 2018 erstmals der Öffentlichkeit präsentiert. Mike Pondsmith kündigte später Cyberpunk Red an, eine neue Ausgabe des Pen-&-Paper-Rollenspiels, das einige Zeit vor 2077 angesiedelt ist. Durch Red und 2077 wurde die Zeitlinie wesentlich verändert. Mike Pondsmith äußerte, dass die gesamte Zeitlinie der späteren Ausgaben in Frage gestellt wird. Daher wurden Elemente der Firestorm Bücher und Cyberpunk V3.0 aus dem Kanon entfernt. Welche genau das waren, ist derzeit noch nicht bekannt. Es kann angenommen werden, dass die Arasaka Atombombe und die Korruption des Netzes nicht vorkommen werden, allerdings ist bekannt, dass der 4. Corporate War stattgefunden hat 2 Übersicht der Cyberpunk Timeline ab den 1800ern Die Zeitlinie der Cyberpunk Serie zweigt seit den 1990ern drastisch von unserer eigenen ab – wenngleich es bereits früher kleinere Abweichungen gegeben hat. Der Zerfall der Sowjetunion am Ende des Kalten Krieges führt zu einem breiten Angebot von Atomwaffen auf dem Schwarzmarkt. In Verbindung mit der Gang of Four (Bande der 4 oder Viererbande) genannten Schattenregierung hinter der US Regierung, findet sich die Welt in einer Wirtschaftskrise und dem Kollaps. Stellvertreterkriege, Handelskriege und zunehmendem Widerstreben Europas gegen die bestehende US Weltordnung. Schließlich führen kurze nukleare Auseinandersetzungen und biologische Kriegsführung zu einem Niedergang der westlichen Zivilisation. Staaten brechen zusammen und viele Regierungen lösen sich auf oder verkommen zu reaktionären, autoritären Staaten. In diesem Chaos füllen Unternehmen das Machtvakuum inmitten der zusammenbrechenden gesellschaftlichen Ordnung. Technologische Fortschritte, ungebremst durch (mangelnde) staatliche Überwachung oder ethische Bedenken führen zu hunderten neuen Erfindungen. Mit zunehmender Zeit werden einige Unternehmen so mächtig wie die Länder, in denen sie beheimatet sind. Schlussendlich finden vor 2077 vier Corporate Wars (Unternehmenskriege) statt, einer größer und tödlicher als der andere. Gesetzlosigkeit, Chaos und Technologie. Das ist die Welt von Cyberpunk. 1800er Sasai Arasaka wurde Mitte bis Ende der 1800er geboren. Weltkriegs. 1942 Saburo Arasaka wird schwer verwundet. Er wird aus medizinischen Gründen aus der Imperialen Marine Japans entlassen und kehrt nach Tokio zurück. 1945 Ende des 2. Weltkriegs. Saburo Arasaka versucht sich am Tage der japanischen Kapitulation das Leben zu nehmen. Saburo Arasaka übernimmt die Kontrolle über die Arasaka Cprporation und richtet sofort die Security Division (Sicherheitsabteilung) ein, welche illegale Operationen ausführen soll. Emile Lazarus macht seinen Abschluss in West Point. Der Quiet War (stiller Krieg) beginnt. 1991 Die ESA stellt das Hermes Raumflugzeug in den Dienst. Biotechnica entwickelt CHOOH2. Die New Jersey Arcologie wird gebaut. Das Stanford Research Center entwickelt künstliche Muskeln. Pläne für Coronado City werden geschmiedet. 1992 Der Euromarkt und der Eurodollar werden eingeführt. Die DEA entwickelt künstliche Krankheiten, um die Drogenproduktion in Südamerika einzudämmen. Als Ergebnis brechen mehrere Drogenkriege aus. Die Regierungen von Chile und Ecuador brechen zusammen. Arasaka, EBM und Petrochem finanzieren die Errichtung von Coronado City. Geburt von Brooke Bailey Atchison. Hua Yuchi gründet die Maoist Loyalist Cabal in der Provinz Hunan in China. Ein kleiner nuklearer Sprengkopf wird in New York City gezündet. 15.000 Menschen sterben. Schuld sind kolumbianische Drogenbarone. Der Bau von Coronado City (später Night City) beginnt. Die ersten Nomad Familien tauchen an der Westküste der Vereinigten Staaten auf. Die australische Regierung plant die Anerkennung von Aborigine-Land. Der Aldecaldo-Clan wird aus Los Angeles vertrieben. Die EC (Europäische Gemeinschaft) richtet ein Wirtschaftsministerium ein. 1994 Die Weltbörse kollabiert. Ende des 1. Zentralamerikanischen Konflikts. In Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania kommt es zu einer Kernschmelze bei der 257 Menschen sterben und der die Krebsrate in die Höhe schnellen lässt. Das Gebiet wird daraufhin als The Pitt bekannt. Der Aldecaldo-Clan wird beauftragt The Pitt wieder aufzubauen. Die Errichtung von Coronado City (später Night City) ist komplett.
