This report updates information for eight guideway corridors currently in operation, construction or design, and thirteen more that are in planning or analysis phase, or that were at the time of the last report in 2015. The capacity analysis looks at regional guideway funding needs and resources related to capital, operations and capital maintenance for the next ten years. Northstar Commuter Rail Line Opened in 2009 and Travels with Maximum Speeds of 79 Mph Across Its 40-Mile Length
Metro Transit TOD Office metrotransit.org/tod [email protected] The Northstar Commuter Rail Line opened in 2009 and travels with maximum speeds of 79 mph across its 40-mile length. The commuter-oriented trains offer comfortable seating, free Wi-Fi, onboard restrooms, work tables, electrical outlets and onboard bicycle storage. Service includes six southbound and six northbound trips per weekday, limited weekend service and additional service for special events. Northstar makes critical connections between northwest suburbs and Minneapolis, linking them with the METRO Blue and Green Line light-rail lines. The corridor is 117 route miles from Altoona to Pittsburgh has three intermediate stations (see Table 1). Table 1.
