The Northstar Commuter Rail Line opened in 2009 and travels with maximum speeds of 79 mph across its 40-mile length. The commuter-oriented trains offer comfortable seating, free Wi-Fi, onboard restrooms, work tables, electrical outlets and onboard bicycle storage. Service includes six southbound and six northbound trips per weekday, limited weekend service and additional service for special events. Northstar makes critical connections between northwest suburbs and Minneapolis, linking them with the METRO Blue and Green Line light-rail lines.

The Cielo: Phase 1 of this project includes 101 units, Residences at COR: 230 apartments connected to opened in 2016. Phases 2 and 3 include an additional Ramsey Station. 158 units to be open by 2019. This project is located near Fridley Station. (Image: City of Fridley.)
