Flute! Practicum for Performers 2015 is a masterclass for performers interested in

developing performance and repertoire skills. Participants will perform in daily sessions led by artist Mary Karen Clardy, with a focus on standard repertoire and orchestral excerpts. Practicum for Performers 2015 Flutists study and perform standard repertoire and orchestral excerpts in daily sessions led by artist Mary Karen Clardy, with an open class atmosphere to encourage observation in class sessions. Flutists are coached in various performing genres including concert, competition, orchestral audition, and recording techniques, with particular focus on development of musical phrasing and technical consistence in performance. practice Classes include concepts of musical phrasing, vibrato, tone, technique, and articulation, with particular emphasis on practice methods. Various methods, including Mary Karen Clardy’s Flute Fundamentals I and II; Etude Books I and II; Classic Solos 1 and 2; Classic Duets 1 and 2; and Classic Études are used throughout the class to address individual strengths and challenges. production In the 21st century, flutists are required to submit recordings for auditions, competitions, etc., and digital recording technology allows the production of high-quality recordings.
