Devon County Council (Old Torrington Road, Sticklepath) (Bus Gate) Order

Devon County Council make this order in exercise of powers under sections 1, 2, part IV of schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and of all other enabling powers

1. This order comes into force and may be cited as “Devon County Council (Old Torrington Road, Sticklepath) (Bus Gate) Order ”

2. In this order “approved vehicle” means a vehicle, other than a contracted school bus, that is under contract to Devon County Council to provide transport to schools “contracted school bus” means a vehicle under contract to Devon County Council to provide transport to schools “cycle” has the same meaning as in section 192(1) of the Road Traffic Act 1988 “local service” has the same meaning given in section 2 of the Transport Act 1985 “public service vehicle” has the same meaning as in section 1 of the Public Passenger Vehicles Act 1981

3. Nothing in this order applies to anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform

4. Save as provided in article 5, no person shall cause or permit any motor vehicle to proceed in that length of road specified in the schedule

5. Nothing in article 4 shall apply if the vehicle is listed below in column 1 and is being used during the times and days specified in column 2
