WILDCATS DEFEAT LANCASTER CATHOLIC IN OT BATTLE, 72-70 In a hard fought battle on Saturday afternoon, our Wildcat Girls’ Basketball Team defeated Lancaster Catholic in overtime, 72-20, putting an end to Lancaster Catholic’s 62 game winning streak and adding another win to the Wildcat’s postseason run. This win escalates the Mifflinburg Girls’ Basketball Team to their longest postseason drive taking them to this week’s State Semifinals where they will compete against North Catholic on Tuesday at St. Francis University. The scoring was back and forth between the two teams each holding the lead at different times. Wildcat players put up some great numbers in this high-scoring game. Reagan Griffith led the team with 19 points scored, and her twin sister, Riley Griffith scored 18 points. Also putting up some impressive numbers were Angela Reamer with 17 points, Libby Whittaker with 12 points, Mara Shuck with 4 points, and Brooke Catherman with 2 points. The Wildcats also took the win over Kennard Dale, 51-45, this past Wednesday in the State Quarterfinals. Scoring in that game were: Riley Griffith (20), Reagan Griffith (4), Mollie Baumgardner (4), Angela Reamer (13), Libby Whittaker (8) and Mara Shuck (2). Great job ladies! 2 Mifflinburg Area School District March 18, 2019 MIFFLINBURG’S CHITTY CHITTY BANG BANG THE MUSICAL IMPRESSES FANS WITH DIRECTION, SET DESIGNS, ACTING, SINGING AND COMEDY Three showings of Mifflinburg’s Chitty Chitty Bang Bang the Musical surely did not disappoint! The cast and crew of this well put-together and well-performed musical hit the stage with poise and professionalism. The comedic entertainment of Isaac Ilgen and Adam O’Neill, as Boris and Goran, as well as, Dakota Heintzelman and Riley Wolfgang, as Baron and Baroness Bomburst, kept the audience laughing throughout the show. The angelic voice of Emma Zechman as Truly Scrumptious was amazing. Brandon Linn, Laura Hamm and Christopher Rapson (all three shown above) as part of the Potts Family, welcomed the audience into their lives and carried them along their journey with Chitty. The whole cast and crew of this musical did a wonderfully entertaining job and hit it out of the park with this performance. The sets came to life and the production flowed flawlessly. There were so many helpful hands that make a show like this go off without a hitch, and their passion for the performing arts showed. Kudos to all!
