DRAMA CLUB Mrs. Snow The Drama Club is open to all students in grades 9-12. Goals of the club include improving performance techniques, seeing live theatre, and working towards school performances. If getting on stage is not your thing, you can still be an active part of the play. Students are needed to build the set, work backstage, run the lighting and the sound, help with costumes and make-up, and generate publicity. There is a way for everyone to be a part. FAMILY, CAREER, & COMMUNITY LEADERS OF AMERICA (FCCLA) Mrs. Waughen Everyone is part of a family, and Family Career and Community Leaders of America is the only national career and technical student organization with the family as its central focus. Since 1945, FCCLA members have been making a difference in their families, careers and communities by addressing important personal, work and societal issues through family and consumer sciences education. FCCLA is unique among youth organizations because its programs are planned and run by members. Involvement in FCCLA offers members the opportunity to expand their leadership potential and develop skills for life—planning, goal setting, problem solving, decision-making and interpersonal communication—necessary in the home and workplace. LIBRARY READING CLUB Ms. Brobst The Reading Club is open to those students who enjoy reading and would like to work on projects to encourage other students to read. Students choose a novel to read and discuss as a group, host fundraisers & compete in an interscholastic reading competition. MATH CLUB Mr. Carpenter The Math club is for those who are looking to challenge themselves mathematically. The club takes a look at different types of math problems that you wouldn't normally find in a normal classroom setting. You do not need to be in the highest math class to be a part of the club, however you should enjoy working with numbers and thinking outside of the box to solve problems. In addition, the club goes to two different math competitions: one in the fall, and one in the spring. A great benefit is that the club meets Friday mornings, allowing you to be a part of other clubs and as well as the Math Club. NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY Mrs. Swartz / Mr. Shaffer Seniors and Juniors, who have maintained a 90% average, are eligible to be considered for membership in this organization.
