The renaissance of Bordeaux wines

Everything starts out in the , with a drastic selection of the best and strict vine-growing rules in order to guarantee high quality fruit. Yields are low, sorting rigorous, and the wines are traditionally fermented before ageing in barrels to enhance each ’s authenticity. Thomas Barton Réserve Bordeaux Thanks to a great diversity of microclimates and soils, Bordeaux was geographically predestined to produce the world’s finest wines. The richness and elegance of Thomas Barton Réserve Bordeaux is due to a subtle blend of and , combined with the skills and experience of the winemaker. This very attractive wine has an intense, ripe, raspberry nose with overtones. It is well-structured on the palate, with plenty of fruit, good balance, and excellent . This Reserve Bordeaux is a charming wine to share with friends and family, especially with tomato-based pasta dishes, roast chicken, steak, and soft-ripened cheeses such as Morbier.

Thomas Barton Réserve Graves Graves is one of the oldest winegrowing regions of Bordeaux and has long been famous for its excellent white wines. These are made from a blend of two varieties: Semillon provides structure and contributes freshness and fruitiness. Winemaker Laurent Prada prides himself on selecting only the very best plots to produce Thomas Barton Réserve Graves. This elegant wine has a complex nose featuring citrus and white fruit, with mineral and well-integrated oaky overtones. It has great balance and good acidity, which gives the wine a long aftertaste. Served chilled, it is delightful with sea bass in a lobster coulis, salmon gratin, sole, and turbot.

Thomas Barton Réserve Saint-Emilion Considered the heartland of Merlot, Saint-Emilion is a complex region whose fame goes as far back as the Gallo-Roman period. The has a great diversity of soils, which adds to its mystery and prestige.Winemaker Laurent Prada has selected the best grapes to produce a wine that reflects centuries of history. Thomas Barton Réserve Saint-Emilion has a lovely bouquet dominated by black cherry. It starts out full on the palate, going on to reveal good balance with opulent tannin and a long finish. It is the perfect accompaniment to duck filet with poached pear in sauce or medallions of monkfish.

Thomas Barton Réserve Médoc The left bank of Bordeaux is home to the world’s most famous red wine grape: Cabernet Sauvignon. This complex variety blends beautifully with Merlot to produce the Thomas Barton Réserve Médoc. This fine wine is rich and powerful with attractive hints of black fruit, pepper, liquorice, and . It is concentrated and well-structured, with the wonderful polished tannin of Cabernet Sauvignon at its best. An ideal ambassador for the appellation, Thomas Barton Réserve Médoc is delicious with wild risotto, paella, steak, Mediterranean bean stew, and hard cheeses such as Manchego.

Thomas Barton Réserve Margaux Fine and elegant, Margaux features a rare smoothness in the greatest years. The gravelly soil is ideally suited to Merlot, and especially Cabernet Sauvignon vines. Made in the purest tradition of the First Growths, Thomas Barton Réserve Margaux is the result of a selection of the best plots in the appellation. Wonderful ripe cherry fruit and seductive hints of chocolate and oak make this wine particularly impressive. Charming, round, and opulent, it has a velvety texture. It is a great accompaniment to beef fillet, roast saddle of lamb with fresh herbs, and chicken breasts stuffed with black .

Thomas Barton Réserve Sauternes Sauternes is a legendary sweet wine whose unique microclimate accounts for its great complexity and rich, smooth texture. The winemaker makes it a point of honour to use traditional methods, including a drastic selection during the (up to 5 separate waves of picking) to make Thomas Barton Réserve Sauternes. The beautiful bouquet displays overtones of honey, tropical fruit, apricot, and orange marmalade. Intense, full-bodied, and simply irresistible on the palate, this wine is perfectly balanced and wonderfully fresh. Thomas Barton Réserve Sauternes is best served chilled to highlight its body, concentration and creamy texture, and makes a perfect match for foie gras, Roquefort, orange crème brûlée, or simply on its own as an aperitif!

Thomas Barton Réserve Privée Médoc Thomas Barton was very much of a pioneer in the Médoc in the early 18th century. He earned a great deal of respect for his expertise and intimate knowledge of this famous region. Thomas Barton Réserve Privée Médoc reflects his skill and reputation. Laurent Prada works closely with 18 Médoc winegrowers to produce the ripest, best possible fruit from old vines with very low yields. Fermented the traditional way and aged in new French oak barrels for 18 months, this small production (12,000 bottles) is the epitome of a fine Médoc, with classic elegance. The complex bouquet has blackcurrant and pepper aromas. This is a big, rich, full-bodied, and elegant wine on the palate, with exceptional balance and a very long finish. This sumptuous wine is the perfect match for osso buco, roast leg of lamb with fresh herbs, tournedos, game, and strong cheeses. Extremely delicious at present, Thomas Barton Réserve Privée Médoc will also age well for 10 years.
