The quality of current/former players, administrators and volunteers has been great, yet we have not achieved the recognition as one of the best and most influential clubs in Premier Cricket. This should remain our objective and the responsibility is with all players, coaches and administrators to build on past effort to achieve our objective. The development of women's cricket at Prahran is a priority and although we are still a work in progress, giant strides have been made thanks to the tireless efforts by coaches, managers and of course – the players. Further initiatives and resources are planned for women's cricket in 2016/17. We are very appreciative of the time, expertise and resources from coaches, committee persons and office bearers, sponsors, supporters and our invaluable volunteers. Congratulations to the players on their efforts, particularly the Men's and Women's 1st XIs on their finals performances and the general support of players at dinners, functions and Presentation Night. David Jones was President of the Club for three seasons and resigned due to personal circumstances at the end of the season. We all thank David for the amount of time and effort he gave the Club and look forward to seeing him as a supporter at Toorak Park next season. Finally, although I have been in the role of President for a short period, I appreciate the support received for our planning process that should set the Club for a successful 2016/17 season. John Salter President Page 8 Prahran Cricket Club (Incorporated) 137th Annual Report and Financial Statement ADMINISTRATION MANAGER'S REPORT My brief tenure as Administration Manager afforded me the opportunity to view our great Club from another perspective, and to see just how hard so many people work to keep the Club rolling along. We have endured significant changes on and off the field in recent seasons, but it is the strength, commitment and belief of all of us, collectively, that will ultimately bring us the success we yearn for. In many senses, I jumped in the deep end when taking on this role ‐ I therefore have many people to acknowledge for their assistance in keeping me afloat. My thanks go to: David Jones and his Committee for initially appointing, and then supporting me as Administration Manager. John Zarb and Alastair Gumley for their advice and guidance. David Jukes and Ian Crawford for their ongoing support and encouragement. The captains, both temporary and permanent, of all of our teams for their assistance on match days. Peter Di Venuto for his tireless work and enthusiasm for every aspect of our Club. Carl Sandri and David Williams for their help with our Women's teams Nigel Hutton for his efforts in maintaining the Club's digital presence, especially his brilliant photography, examples of which are to be found throughout this report. Michael Costello and John Stewart for the extraordinary dedication they show to our Club. Karl Hieser for his scoring, his advice and his wisdom. Phil Williamson and the Stonnington Gift Committee for the amazing work they do for our Club. Everyone who helped out at our selection night dinners ‐ in particular, Brett and Leanne Wilcox, Susan Frances, John Raglus, John Salter and Zoe Juricic. Thanks again to Zoe, and to Christine Seymour and Rosemary Schlittler for their outstanding match day catering. Paul Gilchrist, the Inner South East Scorpions regional manager. Peter Binns, Erini Gianakopoulos and Mike Ronchi at Cricket Victoria. Lauren Dick at Stonnington Council and Mitch Hewitt, curator at Toorak Park, and his team. Finally, I wish every success to new President John Salter as he guides our Club into the future. AUSTRALIAN CRICKET SOCIETY 54th Annual Report & Financial Statements 2020~2021 to be presented at the Annual General Meeting of the Australian Cricket Society Incorporated on Friday, 20th August 2021 Australian Cricket Society Inc. Established 1967 President's Report It is my pleasure to report on another highly successful and buoyant year for the Australian Cricket Society in 2020-21. Despite all the challenges of lockdowns and the nation’s roller- coasting battle with Covid-19 we have been able to complete a dozen functions in the last 12 months, albeit the majority by ‘Zoom’, allowing us to make another substantial donation to our gold charity partners the Ponting Foundation. Among the Zoom guests were Test offspinner Ashley Mallett, authors David Frith, Dan Liebke, Craig Dodson and Wes Cusworth and leading Australian women Annabel Sutherland and Rachael Haynes. We were also pleased to hold our annual dinner, which Covid- 19 had precluded from being held in 2020. Cricket’s fraternity and friendships were never more important than in July when our dinner guest, Test fast bowler James Pattinson was in touch on the Wednesday, telling me that a personal issue precluded his attendance for the Friday. There was just 48 hours to go and Victoria’s head coach Chris Rogers stepped in. Chris Rogers demonstrating how high the Master should be raising his arm when bowling! Pic by Johann Jayasinha - SNNI The ultimate insider in Australian cricket, a champion player and an even better bloke, Chris spoke for an hour about the Vics and the Aussies and also about his memorable 2013 Ashes trip when he broke through for the first of his five Test centuries at Durham.
