4HOnline will perform year end processing starting at 10:00pm Friday August 31, 2018, and will reopen for new and returning families by 3:30pm Wednesday September 5, 2018. Due to the holiday weekend, the potential processing time is longer than past years.

Some things to note for the rollover: During that time, no family will be able to access their record. All Inactive members/leaders will be set to Archived. All Active, Pending, and Incomplete members/leaders will be set to Inactive. Contacts will not change

Adult and Youth Leaders - Mark Your Calendars for Fall Forum

and Hall of Fame Celebration Don’t miss out on a great statewide workshop for youth and adult leaders!!! “4-H Grows True Lead- ers!” “Belonging Starts With YOU!” “Belonging Grows With YOU!” “Belonging….YOU Make a Difference”

What: Fall Forum and Hall of Fame Celebration When: November 2 – 4, 2018 (starting with registration at 6:00 p.m. Friday, November 2 and ending 11:00 a.m. Sunday November 4) Where: Green Lake Conference Center, Green Lake Who: Each county is encouraged to send a delegation of youth and adults 7th – 13th grade youth Adult volunteer leaders Staff are invited and encouraged to attend as your schedule permits Cost: $85 registration fee per person- Friday – Sunday (pizza buffet, 3 meals Saturday, 1 meal Sunday) $75 registration fee per person - Saturday – Sunday (3 meals Saturday, 1 meal Sunday) $70 registration fee- Saturday – (lunch and Hall of Fame dinner) $50 registration fee- Saturday – (lunch only) Lodging: Adults $50/night if there are two adults $80/night for single adult room (limited availability) $25/night with three or more adults per room Youth $25/night with three to six youth per room

The program kicks off Friday evening with over 15 interactive sessions. Saturday offers more than 25 workshops to choose from. Top off the night with a special celebration where 9 laureates will be inducted in to the Wisconsin 4-H Hall of Fame. An evening of circle dancing and table games will follow the celebration. Sunday morning brings a high energy program that you can use at the club or community level.

Ambassadors are representatives of the Eau Claire County 4-H program. Their mission is to promote the Eau Claire County 4-H Program and to develop their leadership skills.

What do they do? To accomplish their mission, ambassadors will: • Help at County 4-H events by presenting

awards, ushering and emceeing

• Work at the fair

• Talk with community groups about 4-H

• Do TV and /or Radio spots

• Promote upcoming events at club meetings

• Recruit members at schools and local events

• Participate in parades

What are the qualifications? • 4-H members 7th grade & up

• Strong communication skills

• Desire to be a leader

• Knowledge about 4-H

• Enjoy promoting 4-H

• Love working with others

How do I sign up?

Attend the information/planning meeting on Sunday, September 23 at 2:00 pm at the Extension Office.

Augtember OYC Minutes

The Augtember meeting was called to order by Rachel Anderson at 7pm on August 27th, 2018. The meeting was held at the Extension Office. Pledges were led by Josie Syverson. Eldor Henning gave his report on the Dairy Shack and OYC Food Stand. Rachel Anderson read the Treasurer’s Report. Rachel Anderson read the Secretary’s report and Sydney Schermerhorn read the Thank You notes written for OYC. Motion to accept the Secretary’s Report was given by Beth Berger and the second was made by Katy Haworth. Rachel Anderson then led a trivia icebreaker game.

For old business, Sydney Schermerhorn gave a report on the Scavenger Hunt. Rachel Anderson gave a report on the Fairly Good Games, Patricia Clark talked about the Fair Olympics, and Isabel Walsh, Sydney Schermerhorn, Rachel Anderson, and Josie Syverson talked about the Dairy Shack. OYC members were reminded to turn in trip and post-trip requirements to Andy at the Extension Of- fice. Motion to accept Old Business was made by Patricia Clark and the second was made by Hailey Sorensen.

For New Business, OYC members brainstormed future meeting locations, signed up for committees, and received resume/cover letter samples. Members were encouraged to sign up for Discovery Day. Miranda Nelson talked about having an Eau Claire County 4-H Ambassador team. Teresa Miller will have order forms for t-shirts and sweatshirts. Dates for future events were discussed. There was no Youth Representative or Adult Advisor report. We then welcomed new members and sang happy birthday to members celebrating an August or September birthday. Motion to adjourn the meeting was made by Beth Berger and the second was made by Nick Tumaniec.

The Eau Claire Clovers July meeting was held on July 8 at Good Shepard Church at 4pm. A record book workshop was held at 3pm, before the meeting. The month’s community service project was brining donations of clothing, school supplies, etc for Good Shepherd Church. The energizer was led by the Syversons before the meeting started. Hannah led the pledges and Josie passed around the attendance. Members with July birthdays were recognized and given their cards. The secretary’s report was available to review online, before the meeting, and was motioned by Olivia and Marshall. The spirit cup was awarded to Piper. Josie gave the treasurer's report and it was motioned by Olivia and Brooklyn. In old business, at the June meeting fair tags were handed out and Patricia did a first aid kit demo. In new business, there are many fair sign ups out there. Our club has 2 shifts in the adult leaders food stand on Friday from 2-6pm and Saturday from 7-11am. We are also responsible for both the Treasure Chest and the craft table in the kids day tent on Friday from 9:45-4:15. Pie order forms are due to Cindi by July 16 (this will fill your pie requirement for the fair). The cooking baking contest is happening again this year during fair week. For more details see page 20 of the Clover Leaves. The fair booth theme is Incredibles, so get your pictures of the Eau Claire Clovers doing incredible things in 4-H to Sydney at [email protected]. Officer election are at the next meeting on August 26, so start thinking about if you want to run for something. Pleasant Valley Clovers Secretary Report July 16

Our club meeting was held at Cleghorn Community Center. People who wanted to help plan the fair booth met at 6pm. Motion to approve the secretary’s report was made by Emma Wathke, and second was made Lindsay Duerkop, all agreed. Bernie Falbo, Allison Duerkop, Lindsay Duerkop, Sam Friederichs, Ashlyn Jaquish, Kylee Jaquish, Teresa Miller, and Emma Wathke talked about handing ice cream sandwiches on June 21st at Cleghorn Park. The Reck family drew pictures to help us promote June dairy month to have the park. Bernie Falbo, Lindsay Duerkop, Ada Reck, Lilian Reck, and Emma Wathke talked about 4-H On the Air that aired the first weekend in July. Allison Duerkop, Lindsay Duerkop, Sam Friederichs, Will Friederichs, Kylee Jaquish, Teresa Miller, Ada Reck, Lilian Reck, Emma Wathke talked about 4-H Camp. Bernie Falbo, Sam Friederichs, Will Friederichs, and Kylee Jaquish talked about working at the Farmers Market. Allison Duerkop and Kylee talked about Wisconsin Youth Leadership Conference they attended. Teresa Miller talked about being on WLC at Wisconsin Youth Leadership Conference. Sam Friederichs and Teresa Miller talked about their trip to Adams County, Pennsylvania for Interstate Exchange. For old business we reminded everyone about our Food Stand and Kids Day Tent shifts. We are putting 2 baskets in the Silent Auction. We will be setting up our fair booth on Wednesday 25th at 5:30pm. State fair drama kids will be performing August 5th at 10am and 1:15pm, and drama performers will be emailed about the next practice time they have. For new business we are looking into doing Scoop It forward for next year. Trip money requests are due to treasurer, and will discuss who much they will get at our August meeting. Officer letters were due at this meeting. Our next meeting will be held at Cleghorn Community Center on August 19 at 3pm with a pot luck, also record books are due at this meeting. There was no youth leaders report because it is July 17 at 7pm at the fairgrounds. Leaders report was given by Wendy Duerkop. Pie orders were due at this meeting to Cydni Kortbein. Pleasant Valley Clovers Secretary Report August 19

Our club meeting was held at Cleghorn Community Center. Cullen Kortbein and Emma Bol- don gave their demonstrations. Motion to approve the secretary’s report was made by Katelynn Friederichs, and second was made by Lillian Reck, all agreed. For old business we congratulated everyone who entered the fair. Sam Friederichs, Katelynn Friederichs, Ashlyn Jaquish, Kylee Jaquish, and Cullen Kortbein talked about fair booth set up. Lindsay Duerkop talked about the beef and dairy barn award the club got. Emma Boldon, Duerkop’s, Kortbein’s, Reck’s, and Emma Wathke talked about performing their skit at State Fair. Allison Duerkop and Teresa Miller talked about showing dairy at State Fair. Teresa Miller talked about Arts Camp Counselor Training she attended and her WLC retreat. Motion to have the club reimburse members who asked for money was to give $10 for 4-H Camp and up to 10% for any other trip was made by Cullen Kortbein, and second was made by Lindsay Duerkop, all agreed. Cullen Kortbein talked about his CWF trip he went on and thanked everyone who bought pies from him. For new business we talked about doing a float at Harvest Fest with a theme of “Get Hooked On 4-H” and handing out string cheese, a sign up went around to have kids work kids games from 1 -3pm, and we will be cleaning up the park on Saturday and Sunday mornings at 7am and Sunday afternoon at 5pm. Our next meeting will be September 16 at 3:30pm at the Wathke’s. We will have our Charter renewal meeting on August 26 at the Duerkop’s at 5pm. We will talk about ideas for na- tional 4-H Week at our next meeting. Youth leaders report was given by Allison Duerkop, Sam Friederichs, Kylee Jaquish, and Teresa Miller, and our next meeting is August 27 at the Extension Office at 7pm. Leaders report was given by Wendy Duerkop. Our officer team for this next year is Teresa Miller as our President. Sam Friederichs as our Vice President. Motion to cast unanimous vote for Allison Duerkop to be secretary was made Cul- len Kortbein, second was made by Ada Reck, all agreed. Motion to cast unanimous vote for Kylee Jaquish to be treasurer was made by Lindsay Duerkop, and second was made Katelynn Friederichs. All agreed. Lillian Reck as our Historian.
