Saint Saturnin of was one of the "Apostles to the " sent out during the consulate of Decius and Gratus to Christianise after the persecutions under Emperor Decius had all but dissolved the small Christian communities. St. Saturninus, martyr, suffered at in the last great persecution under Emperor Diocletian in 304.
