EUROPEAN ACADEMIC RESEARCH Vol. VII, Issue 9/ December 2019 Impact Factor: 3.4546 (UIF) ISSN 2286-4822 DRJI Value: 5.9 (B+) www.euacademic.org Cultural, educational and scientific aspects in newspaper “Flaka e Vllaznimit” (1974-1991) KOSOVAR BASHA Institute of History “Ali Hadri” Prishtina, Kosovo Abstract The policy of equality of nations and nationalities of Yugoslavia, founded within the framework of the new socialist social order of Yugoslavia (DFY, FNRYJ, SFRY) after the Second World War, included the right of ethnic communities to study in mother tongue and to affirm their cultural values. Within this policy, since 1945, the first daily newspaper in the Albanian language “Flaka e Vllaznimit” (Flame of Brotherhood) started to appear in Macedonia (DFM, NRM, SRM), and in the next few decades several other newspapers and magazines also appeared. Albanian press in the SR of Macedonia (in further text Macedonia) has been identified with its main newspaper “Flaka e Vllaznimit”, which acted from 1945 to 1991. Consequently, it covered almost all cultural, educational and scientific activity of Albanians, Macedonians, Serbians etc, in Macedonia. From it derived several magazines such as "Jehona", "Gezimi" and "Fatosi". So, this newspaper played an undisputed role in their cultural, educational and scientific achievements. "Flaka e Vllaznimit” was indeed a chronicle of time, which recorded the main events of that space, with special emphasis on Albanians. Moreover, this newspaper had a high professional level, because the most advanced intellectuals from the Albanian nationality in Macedonia worked there. This paper is based on relevant literature and also on the newspaper "Flame of Vllaznimit" issued from 1974 to1991.

SOCIAL LIFE FAMILY LIFE SOCIAL LIFE INTRODUCTION Society underwent in Albania, Bulgaria and Macedonia since 1944 a considerable transformation. The traditions, composition of the family and the positions of men, women and children went through a fast process of change. However there are considerable differences in the rate of change between the three countries, as well as for the different communities within these countries. Ethnic and religious backgrounds of people but also technological developments influenced this process. A common ground can also be found in the attitude of the communist authorities towards religion and in the revival of religion cults in the nineteen nineties. However the impact was and is different. Albania underwent a very active policy, during the communist regime, to create a total population of atheists, whereas Bulgaria and Macedonia lived in a relative liberal religious climate. Also the level of religious revival is again different in the three countries, the number of active believers in Albania being lower than in Bulgaria and Macedonia. Social life deals with the following subtopics: Composition of the family and changing roles and positions of men, women and children During the last century huge changes took place in many countries in the composition of families and in demography. This subtopic deals with these changes in Albania, Bulgaria and Macedonia after 1945. What was the effect of these developments on the everyday life of people? What was the role of the government? What are the differences and similarities between different groups in society? Family rituals: Marriages, birthdays and other family holidays and rituals Family rituals are influenced from many directions and they are changing all the time.

SPRAWY NARODOWOŚCIOWE Seria nowa / NATIONALITIES AFFAIRS New series, 52/2020 DOI: 10.11649/sn.2253 Article No. 2253 TOMASZ KAMUSELLA NORTH MACEDONIA: A SURPRISE1 Abstract Following the wars of Yugoslav succession, during the last two decades, Macedonia evolved from central Europe’s (‘Bal- kan’) typical ethnolinguistic nation-state into a studiously and painstakingly negotiated and constructed polyglot and multi- ethnic civic national polity for all the country’s inhabitants— or ‘Macedoners’—irrespective of any linguistic, religious or ethnic differences. This form of statehood is commonly, but rather shortsightedly, seen as characteristic of western Eu- rope. However, in many ways, civic national identification, as practiced now in North Macedonia, draws at the Ottoman tradition of the peaceful coexistence of the millets, or ethno- religious groups that used to be organized as non-territorial au- tonomies in this Islamic empire. The article takes stock of the political and ideological situation in Macedonia after Skopje / ............................... Shkup reached the long awaited rapprochement with Athens TOMASZ KAMUSELLA in 2019.
