HeinOnline’s U.S. Supreme Library includes the U.S. Reports, which contain the officially-published opinions of the U.S. , and are available from inception to current.

Similar to HeinOnline’s “Citations on a Page” feature, case citations referenced in the text of any document in HeinOnline will link to the case in Fastcase. Links will be highlighted in blue, and clicking on the link will pull in the full text from Fastcase.

Bad Law Bot

Fastcase’s Bad Law Bot tool displays a red flag when negative treatment has been posted to a case. Click the words “negative treatment indicated” next to any red flag for a list of cases that have overturned or reversed the case.

ScholarCheck

Hein’s ScholarCheck tool helps users find related items both within HeinOnline and via Fastcase. Look for blue highlighted hyperlinks throughout HeinOnline to link among related documents. ScholarCheck also counts the number of times an article or case is cited by other articles or cases, or is accessed by other HeinOnline users within a rolling 12-month period. FASTCASE

Full Text and Metadata Searching of All Cases

Clicking on the Advanced Search option within Fastcase will produce the search tool, enabling the user to search the full text and metadata of all cases included in the Fastcase database. Options to search by Case Name, Citation, Party, Court and more are also available.

Case Law Included in Comprehensive Search Results

With Fastcase Premium, case law is included in search results when searching across all subscribed collections in HeinOnline. Checking the box next to Fastcase from the search facets will display all cases via Fastcase that contain your search query.
