Rusyn. • To characterize Old Church Slavonic as the first literary language of the Slavs in the wider Slavic context. • Define the basic language characters of the Old Church Slavonic. • Explain and define the relationship between the basic concepts of paleoslavistics: the paleoslavic language - Old Church Slavonic - the Church Slavonic Language and redactions. • Demonstrates the ability to interpret Old Church Slavonic text with defining its basic grammatical features. • Will master the basics of the Old Church Slavonic morphological system. • Get a good orientation in the Old Church Slavonic texts and in the basic textbooks of Old Church Slavonic Language. • Characterize the position and the importance of the work of Slavic missionaries St. Cyril and St. Method for the cultural development of the Slavs. • Based on the acquired knowledge, know how to work with Old Church Slavonic and Church Slavonic texts, with scientific literature in information book databases. • To handle the basic linguistic terms from the Paleoslav literature and use them properly in the description and characteristics of the literary Rusyn and the Slovak language. Course content: Brief curriculum of the subject: Importance of the study of the Old Church Slavonic. Sources of study. Table of Cyrillic script. Reading Old Church Slavonic text. Pronunciation of Old Church Slavonic Signs. Translation. The place of Old Church Slavonic in Slavic languages. Slavic graphics: Cyrillic and Glagolitic. Current status in Slavic languages. Textological analysis of normalized and non-normalized Old Church Slavonic text. Texts of the Old Church Slavonic Language. Divide and overview. History of the study of the Old Church Slavonic Language. Declinational system of Old Church Slavonic, creation of basic verbal forms. Old Church Slavonic.
