The Annual Report of Research and Creative Productions of Faculty and Staff represents a compilation of information as submitted to the Research and Creative Productions Committee by faculty and staff members. The committee has made no effort to assess the artistic or scholarly merit of the entries.

Only publications, professional meeting presentations, published abstracts, art exhibits, performances, compositions, and grants awarded between January 1, 1998, and December 31, 1998, were included in this Annual Report. References to entries forthcoming by being published, performed, or exhibited in 1999 were excluded.

Although all external grants are meritorious, this publication only features research and creative production grants. All external grants are recognized in the annual FOCUS Magazine published by the MSU Office of Publications and Printing Services in conjunction with the Division of Academic Affairs, Office of Research, Grants and Contracts and the Research and Creative Productions Committee.
