États Généraux Du Film Documentaire Lussas, 18-24 Août 2019 états généraux du film documentaire lussas, 18-24 août 2019 ÉDITO Le réel, qu’est-ce que c’est ? À cette question essentielle qui taraude le cinéma documentaire, Juan- David Nasio, psychanalyste renommé et étonnant de pédagogie, propose une réponse : « le trou noir », « ce qui est infiniment impossible de connaître », développée dans un film éponyme. Avec son ton irremplaçable, il ajoute : « les images ont pour fonction de cacher le réel ». Aussi réducteur et obscur que cela puisse paraître en deux extraits de phrases, tout cela se concrétise néanmoins assez clairement, dans le dispositif analytique bien sûr, mais aussi dans ce qui nous intéresse ici tout parti- culièrement, la production des images. Qu’est-ce qui affleure à la surface des choses et des êtres ? Comment précisément, les cinéastes inventent-ils des situations pour espérer approcher, apercevoir, toucher des éclats de réel, ce réel insaisissable ? Dans l’intonation d’une voix, la lueur d’un regard ou la tension d’un geste, en substance dans la vibration d’une image, que peut-on déceler de leur part inconnaissable et qui parvient à nous troubler ? Alain Bergala explorera pour nous la « création-cinéma » à la recherche de ces moments d’effraction dans les films. Tout aussi troublante et engageante est la proposition d’Érik Bullot et de Muriel Pic de penser le cinéma comme une expérience de désorientation qui nous expose à l’hypothèse de notre archive animale et nous rappelle comment « la naissance du cinéma est venue rétablir notre rapport à la perception sensible ». Federico Rossin ne viendra pas démentir cette approche avec la découverte privilégiée de l’œuvre de Robert E. Fulton dont « les films sont les preuves éblouissantes d’un passage – secret – entre les gestes de fabrication du cinéma documentaire et du cinéma expérimental ». La prolifique et exceptionnelle « Histoire de doc » consacrée à la Yougoslavie sera presque un festival dans le festival par son ampleur et sa densité cinématographique. Autres cinéastes à l’honneur, le couple Swann Dubus et Tran Phuong Thao, qui inaugurera aussi une « Route du doc » en provenance du Vietnam, avec une nouvelle génération d’auteurs et trois manières de construire des récits pour tenter de s’inscrire dans une histoire contemporaine : films documentaires de cinéma direct, fictions et films d’artistes. Une programmation qui résonne par sa géographie lointaine avec celle de « Docmonde », imaginée par Madeline Robert, pour élargir au plus lointain les regards portés par les films. La rencontre avec Artur Aristakisian et deux de ses anciennes étudiantes a mûri sur plusieurs années. Tous trois à leur manière sont à la recherche d’une forme de révélation d’un invisible ou d’un indicible, d’un point d’incandescence sensible dans les images, ce que nous pourrions nommer aussi le réel qui apparaîtrait cette fois comme la réfraction d’un rayon. L’effraction du réel, c’est peut-être également ce qu’espèrent nos nouveaux programmateurs d’« Expériences du regard », Stéphane Bonnefoi et Adrien Faucheux, en espérant des cinéastes qu’ils puissent laisser leur propre film s’échapper, et être surpris, eux et nous, par cette métamorphose qui s’opère parfois. Et pour finir, n’oublions pas au cœur de cette semaine « Le cinéma en actes d’Edgar Morin » avec Monique Peyrière. Elle nous suggère de reprendre la question « Comment vis-tu ? », « qui inaugure le tournage de Chronique d’un été et en propose certains enjeux : la mise en tension entre vie quotidienne et vie filmée, entre l’individu et le collectif, entre le politique et le cinéma. En paraphrasant Edgar Morin, on peut dire de ce film qu’il concerne le vif du sujet et met le sujet à vif. » Que peut le cinéma, que peut-il mettre en question ? Pour emprunter de nouveau à la cosmologie son vocabulaire si imagé, le cinéma, cherchant à éprouver la résistance du réel, dessinerait de façon illimitée l’« horizon des événements » pour rendre compte des soulèvements du réel, dans tous les sens du terme. To this essential question which dogs documentary cinema, Juan-David Nasio, a famous psychoanalyst and astonishing pedagogue, answers in an eponymous film: “a black hole“, “that which it is infinitely impossible to know”. In his irreplaceable tone, he goes on: “images have the function of hiding the Real”. As simplifying and obscure as these two short propositions may seem, everything becomes nonetheless clearly concrete in the psychoanalytical method of course, but also in what interests us here more particularly, the production of images. What emerges at the surface of things and beings? How precisely do filmmakers invent situations in the hope of approaching, perceiving, touching flashes of the Real, this Real impossible to grasp. In the intonation of a voice, the shimmer of a gaze or the tension of a gesture, ultimately in the vibration of the image, what can we perceive of their unknowable side which manages to touch us? Alain Bergala will explore for us “cinema-creation” in search of those moments of refraction within films. Just as troubling and engaging is Érik Bullot and Muriel Pic’s proposal to think of cinema as an experience of disorientation that exposes us to the hypothesis of our animal archive and reminds us how “the birth of film arrived to re-establish our relationship to sensory perception”. Federico Rossin will not say the contrary with his invitation to a special discovery of the work of Robert E. Fulton, whose “films are a dazzling demonstration of the secret but possible passage between the gesture of making documentary and that of experimental film”. The prolific and exceptional “Doc history” dedicated to Yugoslavia will almost be a festival within the festival by its breadth and cinematic density. Other filmmakers on honour are the couple Swann Dubus and Tran Phuong Thao, who will also inaugurate a “Doc route” arriving from Vietnam with a new generation of filmmakers and three ways of constructing stories to attempt to mark one’s presence within contemporary history: direct cinema style documentaries, fiction films and artist films. The distant geography of this programme will resonate with that of “Docmonde” presented by Madeline Robert to stretch our vision to the farthest points of the planet through the vehicle of film. The meeting with Artur Aristakisian and two of his former students has been maturing for several years. All three in their own ways are searching for a form of revelation of an invisible or unspeakable reality, of a sensory point of incandescence in images that we could also name the Real which appears in this case like the refraction of a ray. The refraction of the Real is also perhaps the hope of our new programmers of “Viewing experiences”, Stéphane Bonnefoi and Adrien Faucheux, when they express the hope that filmmakers might be able to let their own films escape their grasp, and allow surprise, both for them and for us, at the metamorphosis that operates sometimes. And finally, we mustn’t forget at the heart of this week “Edgar Morin’s cinema in actions” with Monique Peyrière, who suggests that we ask anew the question “How do you live?”, “which initiates the shoot of Chronicle of a Summer and establishes certain issues: the creating of tension between daily life and filmed life, between the individual and the collective, between the political and cinema. Paraphrasing Edgar Morin, we can say that this film concerns the raw heart of the subject and rubs the subject raw.” What is the power of cinema? What can it question? To borrow once again the colourful vocabulary of cosmology, cinema, seeking to test the resistance of the Real, sketches out in a limitless way the “event horizon” to account for the upheavals of the Real, in every sense of the word. Leurs opérateurs parcouraient le globe pour « offrir le monde au monde », selon la jolie expression de Bertrand Tavernier. Ce besoin de documenter, de témoigner, de penser par les images de la réalité a accompagné toute l’histoire du cinéma et de l’audiovisuel. Aujourd’hui, le genre connaît une période de foisonnement intense grâce à la multiplication des plateformes numériques et à la possibilité, induite par les nouvelles technologies, d’enrichir la narration en mélangeant différentes écritures (animation, réalité virtuelle…). Toute cette richesse de la création documentaire se retrouve aux États généraux du film documentaire de Lussas, événement de référence qui, depuis 1989, réunit les professionnels et le public à la recherche du patrimoine cinématographique comme des nouvelles écritures documentaires.

Takav tehnički i poslovni uspjeh utjecao je na neobaziranje na radničku svakodnevnicu graditelja broda, pa i na neobaziranje na probleme tijekom njegove izgradnje, te je sadržaj u tim filmovima gotovo u potpunosti, s ponekim značajnim odma- kom, posvećen idealtipskom prikazu. Sasvim inverznu realnost prikazuje film Godine hrđe snimljen u Uljaniku 2000. godine, gdje je teška svakodnevnica radnika kooperanata u pot- punosti zaklonila govor o objektu, brodu koji bi – uspješno izgrađen – ujedno radnike imao učiniti zadovoljnim pojedincima. U radu se, pored analize zasebnih politika prikazivanja filmova različitih perioda, zagovara i komplementarnost tih uradaka. Ključne riječi: brodogradilište Uljanik, Kolos s Jadrana, Berge Istra, Godine hrđe, dokumentarni filmovi Uvod1 U povijest se Pule, najvećeg istarskog grada čiji je cjelokupni suvremeni razvoj ne- odvojiv od vojne i industrijske umještenosti u njegovo priobalno tkivo, datumi 15. siječnja i 2. svibnja 1972. godine upisuju s posebnim značajem. Iako se nikada nakon te 1972. nisu i službeno obilježavali kao značajni na lokalnoj ili republičkoj razini, tih je dana, a radilo se o suboti i utorku, razbijanjem boce šampanjca o krmu kršten i iz pulske luke – zbog svoje veličine – remorkerima otegljen dotad najveći i najkom- pleksniji brod ikada proizveden u nekom hrvatskom i jugoslavenskom brodogradili- štu.
