Catherine Busalacchi, executive director of Student Union, Inc. at San Jose State University, said replacing the scoreboard in the arena and renovation in the SPX building has contributed to a less active schedule this semester. "This is the first time it has happened," she said of the toned-down event schedule. Twenty-eight human performance classes originally held in SPX have temporarily been moved to the Event Center. "It has run smoothly since the classes got relocated with patient and understanding students," said Seth Levinslcy, the sport club coordinator. "The instructors are working with us." According to Levinsky, the classes are now held in var- ious places such as the mini gym, the aerobics room, the arena and in the Event Center concourse. Greg Payne, chair of the physical education depart- ment, said they are putting in new skylights, a new roof and new lights in SPX. He said he is hoping the construction will be done within the next week so the classes can move back. "Classes are not fiinctioning quite as normal, but the instructors are exLierts in their field and find creative ways - - - - to accommodate, Payne said.
